What a Flop: Jerry Heathershaw Flops a Set

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jerry Heathershaw got all in on the {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop against an opponent holding {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. Heathershaw showed {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a set and had his opponent covered.

The turn eliminated any drama when the {8-Hearts} paired the board. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Heathershaw collected the pot and stacked over 100,000.

Dan Dykehouse Is Looking for His Shot on Poker After Dark

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Dan Dykehouse
Dan Dykehouse

Dan Dykehouse is in the field, hailing from Sioux Falls, he travels to play several events a year at the Horseshoe in Council Bluffs.

He says it's a great room with a great staff and thinks it would be exciting to be on Poker After Dark. If he final tables this Main Event, he will be one step closer to the PAD stage, earning his spot in the RGPS Showbound satellite.

He works as a general manager and when he was asked how long he's been playing poker, he responded with a bit of a sigh.

He's made it this far through the field as the break approaches, with four more levels to play before the players bag for the night.

Eric Kyle
Eric Kyle

Mike Vanier was in the big blind and a player shoved from middle position for 12,000. Vanier eventually called after mulling it over for a moment or two.

Vanier showed {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and was ahead of the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} of his opponent. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Vanier won the hand, eliminating his opponent.

Meanwhile, Eric Kyle is running hot and has managed to stack over 200,000 chips and currently holds the chip lead.

Kyle McKinney Wins Three-Way All In, Knocks Out Two

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Kyle McKinney three-bet over a 4,100 open by Kevin Berthelsen, making it 15,500. The next player to act shoved all in and another player called for less.

Now Berthelsen was in the hot seat, and after a moment decided to fold. McKinney, who said his name was "The Donk", called the remaining all in before Berthelsen's cards hit the muck and showed {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

He was against {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

The board brought no help for either opponent and "The Donk" scooped the pot and put himself among the biggest stacks with a little more than an hour to play in day 1a.

Sarah Zeluf and Tony Pleskac Chop?

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Sarah Zeluf shoved all in from middle position for 23,500 and Tony Pleskac called in position. The remaining players folded and the two were heads up with Zeluf at risk.

She had {a-}{10-} against the {a-}{q-} of Pleskac. The board ran out {k-}{8-}{8-}{8-}{x-} and the dealer awarded the pot to Pleskac. Another player at the table corrected the dealer and then the table began to discuss and recreate the board to figure out whether it was, in fact, a chop.

While the table was discussing this, Zeluf was walking out to her car. Someone ran after her to let her know that she had chopped and by the time she was back at the table, her 26,000 chips were waiting for her.

Dave Queen Hits the River

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sarah Zeluf shoved from middle position for 20,500 and Dave Queen was in the small blind and called.

The player in the big blind took a moment then shoved all in for roughly about 90,000 and Queen snap called with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

The big blind showed {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Zeluf showed {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}. The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Spades}, and Queen clapped his hands as the river fell giving him the pot.

Zeluf and the big blind were both eliminated.
