"That River Save You Some Chips"

Clarence Eldridge raised to 600 under the gun only to bet met by a three-bet to 1,600 from Jason Street in middle position. Debra Boyce came along from the cutoff, the button and blinds all folded, and Eldridge called to make it three-way action to the {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop.

Eldridge checked, Street bet 2,600, and Boyce got out of the way. Eldridge called and then checked for the second time on the {a-Diamonds} turn. Street upped his bet to 6,100 and Eldridge thought for well over a minute before making the call.

Both players then checked the {3-Diamonds} river and Street rolled over the {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a flush. Eldridge mucked.

"That river saved you some chips," Street told Eldridge.

Blair Hinkle Wins RunGood Poker Series CardPlayer Cruise Main Event for 3rd RGPS Title

Blair Hinkle (bagged on Day 1a)
Blair Hinkle (bagged on Day 1a)

Last weekend, the RunGood Poker Series was on the high seas! They partnered with CardPlayer Cruises to host a series of events on a seven-day cruise in the Caribbean. There was a ton of poker action, and we thought it’d be fun to highlight some of the events right here in the blog.

The $360 buy-in RGPS CardPlayer Cruises Main Event saw 209 entrants battle it out over two starting flights on the Allure of the Seas.

Among those to get a piece of the prize pool were Karina Jett (27th - $669), Chad Holloway (26th - $669), Chris Conrad (23rd - $669), Tyler Patterson (22nd - $669), Preston McEwen (16th - $760), Grant Hinkle (15th - $973), Chip Jett (13th - $973), RGPS Council Bluffs champ Nick Burris (4th - $4,318) and former RGPS CardPlayer Cruises champ Shawn Sparks (3rd - $6,082).

In the end, the title came down to World Series of Poker bracelet winners Blair Hinkle and Dieter Dechant. The former held an 8:1 chip lead entering heads-up play and it didn’t take long for things to come to a head. Dechant jammed with queen-three and Hinkle called with ace-eight. An ace in the window sealed the deal for Hinkle, and Dechant had to settle for second place and $9,001 in prize money.

It marked the third RGPS Main Event title for Hinkle, who earlier this year won both the RGPS Grand OKC and Hard Rock Tulsa. He's eyeing his fourth title as well after bagging a healthy stack in last night's flight.

The Ladies Love Harrington

A player opened for 800 from early position and Walter Brandhorst Jr called from middle position. Poker reporter Brent Harrington, who on Monday captured his second Signature Ring with a victory in the $135 8-Game Mixer, then three-bet to 3,000 from the hijack.

Action folded back to the original raiser and he pushed back to the tune of 8,500. Brandhorst Jr got out of the way and Harrington paused for a few beats before moving all in for 17,400. His opponent called off for a little less and it was off to the races.

Brent Harrington: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop was interested as it gave Harrington a set but his opponent also picked up a Royal Flush draw. The {a-Spades} turn improved Harrington to a full boat but he wasn't out of the woods with a card still to come. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {10-Hearts}, a safe card for Harrington to give him the juicy pot.
