Jared Ward Leads 70 Players Into Day 2 of the RGPS Downstream Main Event

Jared Ward
Jared Ward

Jared Ward bagged the overall chip lead in the RunGood Poker Series Downstream main event after bagging the top stack in Day 1b.

He will start atop the 70-player field with 368,000 coming back to a 3,000 big blind.

When the tournament resumes, the players will be only 25 spots away from the $1,053 min cash and only 69 players stand between them and the $44,403 top prize and the All-Stars event seat.

The levels will move from 30 minutes to 45 minutes for Day 2.

The entire RGPS Downstream event has seen a rise in numbers for each tournament and the main event was no different. The 383-player field is the biggest RGPS main event so far.

Today the players will be playing for the prize money, the Signature championship ring, and a shot to play in the PokerGO studio at the All-Stars event. The winner of this event will earn a seat to that event which is scheduled to be held in December at the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas.

The players will also be earning points toward the casino championship based on their main event finishes and the main event points are worth more. Sam Washburn, who didn't make Day 2 of the main event is still currently in the lead.

Jacob Seale seems like he might have the best chance to catch Washburn. Seale bagged the chip lead in Day 1a and is only about 18 points from overtaking Washburn with one event to go.

PokerNews.com will be covering the action all day in the main event and tracking the casino champion points race.

Cards are in the air at noon Sunday.
