Velentzas Knocks Out Kaplan In A Flip; Polychronopoulos Out

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Nicholas Valentzas
Nicholas Valentzas

From the hijack a player raised to 6,000 and from one seat over Andy Kaplan moved his entire stack of 26,000 into the middle from the cutoff. Nicholas Velentzas moved all in for slightly over 60,000 and the big blind went into the tank before eventually folding and saying he had ace-king after the hijack folded.

Andy Kaplan: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Nicholas Velentzas: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

It was a fair fight before the flop, but the {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} flop left Kaplan drawing to one red nine in the deck. The turn {2-Spades} sealed his fate with the river {k-Hearts} being just a formality and shook hands with his tablemates before exiting the tournament area.

One table over Athanasios Polychronopoulos was also eliminated from the tournament.

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Athanasios Polychronopoulus raised to 28,000 preflop leaving himself 4,000 from early position, which folded action around to Yuval Bronshtein in the cutoff who flatted and the two players took a flop heads up.

The flop came out {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Polychronopoulos put his remaining 4,000 in the pot and Bronshtein called.

Athanasios Polychronopoulos: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Yuval Bronshtein: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

The turn and river came {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and gave no improvement to the ace-jack, giving Polychronopoulos a flush and the full double up.

Magnus Flops A Set

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Nadya Magnus
Nadya Magnus

Action was picked up after a flop of {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} with three-way action between Nadya Magnus, Shlom Eldarar and one shorter stack. The short stack moved all-in for 37,000 and Eldarar called with Magnus behind. Magnus moved all-in for 77,000 total and Eldarar went into the tank. After about one minute he tossed his hand {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} into the muck face-up and the other players turned up their hands.

Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Nadya Magnus: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds} provided some additional equity for the overpair in the form of a straight draw, but the river {3-Hearts} did not improve the aces and Magnus' set of fours was good for the pot and put her stack at nearly 200,000 chips.

Bronshtein Holds With Cowboys

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A player in the cutoff opened to 5,500 and action folded to Yuval Bronshtein in the big blind who decided to three-bet to 15,000. The cutoff player went all-in immediately and Bronshtein snap-called for 29,000 turning over his hand.

Yuval Bronshtein: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} which gave Bronshtein kings and tens which was good for the double.
