The Final Flight Of The $600 RGPS Council Bluffs Contenders Will End Tonight

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Day 1d
Day 1d

After three successful starting flights not only meeting the $200,000 prize pool guarantee but exceeding it, Day 1d of The RunGood Poker Series $600 Council Bluffs Main Event will come to a close tonight at Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Tonight, the final batch of survivors will be named to make the second day and join the other 55 players from the other flights to play to a winner.

The most recent flight saw the overall tournament chip leader emerge in the form of Kipp Smith, who bagged 877,000. Most of those came courtesy of the last hand of the night where Smith flopped a flush and Benjamin Stuart moved all in with bottom seat for a pot that ballooned to 500,000. Smith has many cashes in events all around the country, but a RGPS ring has eluded him thus far.

Players expected to make an appearance this flight include Brian Frenzel, Blair Hinkle, Michael Miller, Kerry Hildebrand, and Ryan Phan.

The fourth flight began at 6 p.m. Players began the tournament with 30,000 chips with levels beginning at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. Levels will escalate once every 30 minutes, with a 15-minute break occurring every four levels. Play will continue until the field plays down 12.5%, then the remaining players will bag up for Sunday October 23rd where they will all be in the money. Players who do not bag on this flight, will be able to play the following two flights on Saturday, October 22nd.
