Day 1c action in the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) Jamul Casino Main Event has wrapped up after 12 levels of play with Winston Campbell in the chip lead after bagging a stack of 270,500. Campbell leads 34 players from Day 1c who will return to compete on Day 2 for a chance to take down the Main Event.

Play on Day 1c lasted for six hours and saw a field of 146 entrants. Day 1c kicked off just as Day 1b ended, which had attracted 202 entrants to make it the largest of the three starting flights.

In total, the three flights attracted 500 runners to generate a prize pool of $250,000 to smash the guarantee of $100,000.

Other big stacks at the end of Day 1a include Huy Nguyễn (230,000), who took down the $185 DeepStack Event earlier in the week, as well as Barbod Salimi (155,000) and David Avina (119,000).

Barbod Salimi told PokerNews about a hand where a few players limped and the cutoff raised to 5,000. Salimi then three-bet to 30,000 from the small blind and only the cutoff called.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-} and Salimi continued with a bet of 35,000. His opponent folded.

Salimi could have the biggest stack in the room with around 210,000.

Burchfield Gets Value

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player in middle position raised and two players called, including Kris Burchfield in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and all three players checked. The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and Burchfield led out with a bet of 2,000. The initial raiser called and the other player folded.

Burchfield sized up to 6,000 on the {k-Spades} river and the opponent called. Burchfield tabled {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for trip kings and his opponent mucked.

The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) Jamul Casino Main Event in San Diego continues today with flights 1b and 1c, the final of three starting flights in the $575 buy-in tournament.

Day 1b will commence today at noon local time, while Day 1c will get underway later this evening at 7 p.m. The RGPS Jamul Casino Main Event has a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 and will almost certainly surpass that as the next two flights get underway.

Like Day 1a, players will begin with a stack of 20,000 chips and blind levels of 100/100. Blind levels will last for 30 minutes in duration up to Level 12, at which point they will increase to 45 minutes. The tournament allows for unlimited re-entry up until the start of Level 9.

Days 1b and 1c will break either after Level 12 or at the tournament director’s discretion. The remaining players at the end of each starting flight will return for Day 2 on Sunday, Feb. 6 at noon, which will play down to a winner.

The eventual winner of the RGPS Jamul Casino Main Event will earn the lion’s share of the prize pool, as well as an exclusive invitation and $800 seat and stipend package to the RGPS: All Stars Pro-am Event at PokerGo Studios in December 2022.

Shane Truesdale bagged the chip in day 1a with a stack of 282,500, while other players in contention in Day 1a included Kyna England, Richard Alsup and RunGood ambassador Joe Stapleton.

Last month, California’s Kasey Orr won the RGPS Thunder Valley Main Event and earned a payday of $65,728 after reaching a heads-up deal in the record-setting tournament, which saw 851 entries.
