Alexander Rodriguez Eliminated in 9th Place ($21,505)

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Alexander Rodriguez
Alexander Rodriguez

After losing two big pots to Paul Sampson, Alexander Rodriguez was left on fumes when he moved all in for 175,000 after a preflop open by Kevin O'Donnell.

Tyler Patterson made the call behind and O'Donnell tossed in the extra 75,000 as well.

The flop came out 72Q and action checked through to the 10 turn which saw another check from Patterson. O'Donnell then set out a bet of 225,000 and Patterson got out of the way.

"Two-pair," O'Donnell announced as he flipped over 710.

"Yeah, I'm dead," Rodriguez sighed as he rolled over A4.

The river completed with the A for max pain and O'Donnell was awarded the pot while Rodriquez made his way to the payout desk in 9th place as the final table's first casualty.

Brett Hildebrand
Brett Hildebrand

While all eyes have been on the $2,500 buy-in RGPS Million Dollar Main Event, it is just one of more than a dozen tournaments that have been playing out at Thunder Valley Casino.

Another was Event #13: $600 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em, which was capped at 64 players and awarded a $33,280 prize pool. Among those to participate were WPT champ Tyler Patterson, noted poker commentator Jeff Platt, and Survivor’s “Boston” Rob Mariano.

However, only the “Elite Eight” made the money, and in the end, it came down to Brett Hildebrand taking on Travis Fujisaka for the title. The former ultimately prevailed in the final match to claim the RSPG ring and $9,985 in prize money.

Adam Dunkle
Adam Dunkle

Tyler Patterson opened to 80,000 from the button and was called by Adam Dunkle and Kevin O'Donnell in the blinds.

The fop came out K42 and action checked around to see the Q on the turn. Adam Dunkle then led out for 125,000 which resulted in a fold from O'Donnell and a call from Patterson.

On the river 4, Dunkle checked to Patterson who moved all in, covering him, and sent him into the tank.

After around 30 seconds, Dunkle made the call to put himself at risk but was then shown KK for the top full house by Patterson. Dunkle groaned as he tabled the inferior Q10 and he was eliminated in 11th place.

Gregory Flowers
Gregory Flowers

On a heads-up flop of 385, Gregory Flowers moved all in for 860,000 and Shijia Liu went deep into the tank.

"Ughhh, I don't think I can fold this hand, but that is a big bet," Liu was in a heated debate with himself.

After a good minute, he finally slid the chips in to put Flowers at risk and the cards were tabled.

Gregory Flowers: J7
Shijia Liu: KK

Liu had the upper hand with his pocket kings, but still had to fade Flowers' flush draw. The turn came the 4 to also give Flowers a gutshot straight draw to a six, but the river bricked with the 7 and Flowers was eliminated in 12th place.
