Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Pablo Valdivieso

The $1,200 Main Event of the RunGood Poker Series Jacksonville saw its largest field of the weekend on Day 1c, with 330 runners taking their shot at a share of the $653,120 prize pool and Sunday's champion scoring a six-figure payday of $119,773.

After a day of tightly contested play with no one truly staking their claim to the chip lead until late in the day, it’s Pablo Valdivieso taking 505,000 chips into Sunday’s final day of play. His stack will be the 2nd largest of the final 100 players that survived one of the three opening flights, with Day 1a chip leader Josh Wang and his 689,000 chips the largest stack taken forward into Day 2.

Day 1c Action

As players knew they wouldn’t have another chance to reach Day 2, play was more cautious in the late stages than in the previous flights, with the tournament reaching the end of Level 14 with a little over 15% of the field remaining.

Plenty of notables took their shot on Day 1c, with such names as Steven Snyder (750,000), Jon Swift (213,000), Thomas Carroll (247,000), and RGPS Ambassadors Kris Burchfield (140,000) and Jonathan Gaviao (258,000) advancing, while others such as Corey Paggeot, Shane Barnard, and Joey Gargiulo weren’t as fortunate.

Day 2 Schedule

The final 100 players will now come back to the bestbet Jacksonville at noon tomorrow to play down to a winner. The top 79 players will take home at least a min-cash of $1,921.

All flights ended after completing 14 full levels, so play for Day 2 will begin at the start of Level 15 with blinds of 3,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. Levels will again be 40 minutes in length with 15-minute breaks scheduled after every third level.

Stay close to PokerNews for live reporting of all the action until the first ever RunGood Poker Series Jacksonville Main Event champion is crowned here at the action-packed bestbet.

Langevin Takes a Stand

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Johnn Langevin
Johnn Langevin

John Langevin opened to 7,000 and then was three-bet all-in by the big blind. Action folded back around to Langevin who paused for just a moment before flicking in a chip.

Big Blind Player: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
John Langevin: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}

Langevin need some help to catch up, and the poker gods provided as the board ran out {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} to give him two pair, kings and tens to defeat his opponent and sent him to the rail.

Langevin also wanted it to be known that was the seventh time that guy had shoved on him and he decided he'd had enough and took a stand. He then began singing Eminem's "Not Afraid" all to himself as he stacked his new chips.

Beetz Getz Value on River

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Bradley Beetz
Bradley Beetz

On a three-way flop of {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Ed Mroczkowski and Carson Nennsteil checked to Bradley Beetz who bet 8,000.

Mroczkowski folded but Nennsteil made the call to see the {9-Hearts} appear on the turn, to which both players decided to check.

The river fell the {7-Hearts} and Nennsteil bet 4,000 into the pot but was then raised to 20,000 by Beetz. Nennsteil paused to think about it for some time and eventually flicked in a call chip but was then shown {q-Spades}{7-Spades} for a rivered seven. This was good enough to beat Nennsteil as he showed the {4-Clubs} as he tossed his cards into the muck.

After a preflop shove-fest, four players found themselves all in, with Pablo Valdivieso covering.

Player 1: {q-}{j-}
Player 2: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Steven Snyder: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Pablo Valdivieso: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Although Valdivieso was in the lead with his king-queen, the flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} quickly changed that as it gave Snyder a flush and left his opponents drawing stone dead. The board completed with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to secure his victory as two players were sent to the rail and Valdivieso was left short.

On a heads-up turn, the board showed {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} when Christopher Long pushed his stack of 17,100 into the pot of around 15,000.

The pressure was then on his opponent, Greg Robinson, who went into the tank. After a good minute, he finally decided he was going to let it go and tossed his cards into the muck.

Long then showed him {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for top-top as he started tracking his new chips.

Robinson Coolers Karpiel For Big Double

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Greg Robinson
Greg Robinson

On a heads-up board of {j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Greg Robinson bet 5,000 into the pot but was then raised to 10,000 by his opponent Kathy Karpiel.

Robinson then jammed all in for much more and Karpiel snap-called to put him at risk.

Greg Robinson: {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Kathy Karpiel: {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

"Dang it, no! I thought I had you!" Karpiel shouted when she realized she didn't have the best hand. The board completed with the {3-Hearts} to give Robinson the victory with his superior straight for a big double-up.

"Ugh, I should have just made the call instead of raising," Karpiel sighed as she was left with 42,000 while Robinson chipped up to 125,000.

Welcome to Day 1c of the RunGood Poker Series Jacksonville $1,200 Main Event hosted here at bestbet. Today’s flight is the third and final of three opening days of the tournament, so entry numbers are expected to be well above the previous two flights. Charles “Chuck” Kelley bagged the biggest stack of Day 1b, earning 368,000 chips to take into Sunday’s Day 2, so Josh Wang of Day 1a still holds the title of largest stack. Notable names that also bagged included RunGood AmbassadorsJamie Kerstetter, David Tuchman, and Ray Henson. Two-time WSOP Bracelet winner Yuval Bronshtein also found a bag from this flight.

Day 1c will get cards in the air at 12:00 noon local time with 14 40-minute levels scheduled, however, it is possible to end earlier if 12.5% of the field is reached, at which point play will be stopped.

Players will start their day with 30,000 chips at opening blinds of 100/200 with no big blind ante until the start of level 2. Registration will remain open until the start of Level 10 which will be approximately 7:30 p.m. and re-entries are unlimited.

Players will have a 15-minute break after every third level, with a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9.
The tournament has a $300,000 guarantee and with 298 total entries on Day 1ab, this tournament has already smacked that number with the largest expected flight still to come.
