Maggio Doubles Through Phan
Level 9
: 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Joe Maggio moved all in preflop for 23,500 and was called by big stack Nam Phan to put him at risk.
Joe Maggio: A♦J♦
Nam Phan: Q♠Q♥
Phan was in a prime position to score a knockout with his pocket queens, but the flop of 2♦9♣A♥ quickly gave Maggio the lead with his pair of aces. The board completed with 10♥A♠ to further improve him to trip aces and secured him the pot for the double-up.
