Frenzel Doubles with Big Pair

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After an open to 4,100 from the cutoff, Brian Frenzel moved all in from the big blind for 23,500. Joshua Newbrand, who had limped in, announced a call while the original raiser decided to fold. The cards were then on their backs with Frenzel at risk of elimination.

Brian Frenzel: 55
Joshua Newbrand: A10

Frenzel was ahead going into this matchup, and the board ran out J946 with the 5 on the river to give him a set of fives to secure his victory for the double-up.

"I'm assuming you had me preflop but I got there on the river?" Frenzel asked the original raiser who had folded.

"Yes... and yes," he responded and the table erupted with laughter as Frenzel stacked his new chips.

CashCows Qualifier Kent Calls for his Tournament Life

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Shawn Dedrich opened to 2,000 from early position but was then raised to 6,000 by Club GG qualifier Randon Kent on the button.

Action folded back to Dedrick who made the call and the two went heads-up to a flop of 2J3. Dedrick checked over to Kent who continued for 7,000 but then Dedrick quickly moved all in for around 70,000, covering Kent.

Kent was deep in thought for about 15 seconds before he decided to risk his tournament life and set his stack across the betting line.

Randon Kent: AJ
Shawn Dedrich: 1010

"Wow nice call," someone at the table said when the cards were exposed.

"Yeah, I just didn't know if he had an over-pair or not," Kent replied as the board ran out Q2 to secure his victory for the big double-up.

"Ugh, yeah, I didn't think you had a jack in your hand that you would be three-betting with," Dedrick admitted as he paid out the 37,500 to Kent to leave him with around 34,000.

Kent, who won his seat to this event by way of a CashCowsPokerTV promotion via Club GG, is now sitting at 87,000 and is one of the larger stacks in the room.

Steuer Bombs River

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

On a heads-up flop of 33K, there was around 15,000 in the middle when Nate Steuer bet 4,100 and was check-called by Timothy Finley.

The turn came the 2 and both players decided to check and went straight to the river 10.

Finley checked once more to Steuer who then fired out an overbet of 24,000 and sent Finley into the tank.

After a good while, Finley tossed in the call but was then shown AK by Steuer and he promptly mucked his hand.

Steuer was then awarded the huge pot to boost his stack to over 65,000.
