$800 Main Event

Day 1a Started

Day 1a Of RunGood St Louis Begins at 5 pm.

Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, MO
Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, MO

For the first time in The RunGood Poker Series history, the tour has made its home at Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, Missouri this week. The inaugural stop sees a total of eight events, with the biggest one being the $800 Main Event that boasts a $200,000 guarantee on the prizepool.

This leg of The RunGood Poker Series Road Trip tour also sees the inclusion of the Player of the Year Race. This competition sees the top five players at the conclusion of the next leg of the tour win a $600 seat to The Hendon Mob Championship next summer, with the first place player earning that as well as a banner to go to different stops. The current leader on the list is five-time RGPS champion Brian “TheGoldenBlazer” Frenzel. Having already won two rings this leg of The Road Trip already, he looks to add to his lead by posting some results at this stop.

This event looks to be a pull for many big names around the midwest. RGPS Ambassadors Preston McEwen, Angela Jordison, Grant Hinkle, Cody Stanford, Daniel Lowery, and Craig Welko are all here and going to play. On top of that, many other names have made appearances like Forrest Kollar, Walker Miskelly, David Prociak, Chris Audrain, Jeffrey Copeland, and Tim Garles, each of them looking to carve out their own piece of RunGood Poker Series history.

Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 in chips with blinds beginning at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. Levels will last 30 minutes each with a 10-minute break occurring after every four until Level 8. After Level 8, registration will close and the levels will be upped to 40 minutes, with a 10-minute break occurring after every three levels. Play will conclude once the field has shrunk to 12.5% remaining. Players will bag after that with the intention to return to play on Day 2 on Sunday, October 1st at 12 pm.

Nilges Takes From Nguyen

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up in a pot between Matt Nilges who had raised preflop from the hijack and Ha Nguyen called from the cutoff.

On the flop of AQ5, Nilges checked over to Nguyen who bet 1,100 and Nilges responded by raising to 3,500 which Nguyen called.

Nilges checked the Q turn to Nguyen who bet 1,100 and Nilges called.

The river peeled off the 10 which saw Nilges bet 6,000 which Nguyen called after debating for a few seconds.

Nilges turned over AJ for aces and queens with a jack, which was good against Nguyen's A10 for aces and queens with a ten.
