Donald Bishop Wins Seniors Event For $9,925

The RGPS St. Louis Road Trip kicked off Tuesday, September 26th with the first event at Hollywood Casino. A total of 272 entrants came out to play, creating a prizepool of $54,400 and ensuring that 34 players would be guaranteed a minimum of $405.

After one day of play, Donald Bishop won his first RGPS via a heads up chop. He and the runner up finisher Mary Sue Wiemelt made a deal where they both took an even amount. This is Bishop's biggest lifetime first place victory.

O'Dell Runs Into A Straight Flush

Action was recapped by the table as Two-time RGPS Main Event champion Dakotah O'Dell was seen leaving the tournament.

Dakotah O'Dell raised to 1,200 in early position which saw Kyle Parish defend his big blind.

The flop came out 9♣K♣10♣ and O'Dell continued for 2,000 when checked to, which Parish called.

On the 9♦ turn, O'Dell bet once more when checked too, this time to the size of 7,000 which Parish called.

Parish checked a third time on the 7♦ river and O'Dell moved all in for 17,600 and Parish snap called.

O'Dell's three nines had no chance of winning the pot on any street as Parish had flopped O'Dell dead to everything but a foul deck. O'Dell wished his opponents luck as he exited the tournament.

A player raised to 2,200 in early position which saw Jeffrey Copeland call in late position which saw everyone else but the big blind fold.

The flop came out 2♣A♦9♥ and action checked to the early position player who bet 2,000 which only Copeland called.

On the J♣ turn, the early position player sized up to 6,000 which saw Copeland think for a bit before calling.

RGPS Tunica Main Event champion Loi Hoang raised to 4,000 in early position which Steve Wald three bet to 15,000 on the button. Action folded back to Hoang who moved all in for 24,000 and Wald called.

The board ran out 7♠5♠2♠3♥8♠ and the tens made a flush on the end for Wald to take the pot and the RGPS Tunica Main Event champion exited the tournament area quickly.
