Many of the players that were unsuccessful on Day 1a found a way to Day 2 on Saturday, including Terakun "Papa Karn" Karnchanakphan, who finished just outside the top ten after a strong day. He's joined by Dorothy Crossman and William Anderson on Day 2, along with Ron Germany and Morgan McBrayer. Also joining them is WSOP bracelet winner David Moses, who will try to work his way back up the leaderboard as one of the shorter stacks on Sunday.

Also returning on Day 2 is Brian Winter, who leads the RGPS Player of the Year race by a considerable margin. His nearest competitor, Shaun "The Ghost" Emery, will also return on Day 2.

Davis in Control, Winter Finding Chips

Mark Davis
Mark Davis

Level 13: 3,000/5,000/5,000

A player raised to 11,000 and Mark Davis made it 105,000 from the next seat over. The remaining players each gave it a measure of thought but no one wanted to challenge him. Davis took another pot and he is closing in on the biggest bag of the weekend.

Meanwhile, the chips are starting to fall Brian Winter's way and he's sitting next to Shaun Emery — his nearest chaser on the RGPS Player of the Year leaderboard.

Good Luck, Bad Luck

Danny Jessup
Danny Jessup

Level 13: 3,000/5,000/5,000

Two players are having different experiences in Level 13.

Jake Green was seen picking up the pieces with just 4,000 left as another player stacked up most of his chips while showing AJ. The dealer cleaned up the board and Green found a little bit of life on the next hand with J2, but he was seen leaving the tournament area just a few moments later.

The good news is that Danny Jessup has found some life after getting his short stack in with AA. Jessup had two callers and a clean runout for the fresh stack.

Frost Gets a Shove Through; The Champ Chips Up

Jack Keller III

Level 10: 1,000/2,000/2,000

Action was heads up with a full board of 72JJ8 when Johnnie Frost shoved 67,000 and Cody Stanford went into the tank. After a few moments of thought, Stanford got away from it and gave up the pot. The lost pot slows down what has been an otherwise terrific afternoon for Stanford.

A few moments later, Jaymie Virtusio raised to 6,500 on a flop of 97Q and Jack Keller III shoved for 35,500 from the next seat over. Frost called and Virtusio shook her head while she tossed her hand in the muck. Action was heads up with the defending RGPS Tunica champion at risk.

Johnnie Frost: Q10

The board ran out 44 and Keller secured a big pot on his quest for back-to-back titles.

Level 9: 1,500/2,000/2,000

Action was heads up with 3AJ on the board when Caitlin Comeskey bet 12,000. One opponent called and the rest of the table got out of the way. The turn was J and Comeskey shoved for what looked like 40,000. That was good enough to get the fold and take the pot.

Nearby, Terakun "Papa Karn" Karnchanakphan was dragging in a huge double with 10952Q showing on the board. Papa Karn had QQ to take the pot with a rivered set of queens, while his opponent lost with KK.
