After 223 entrants came out to play yesterday, the RunGood Resort $1,000 Main Event begins its third day of registration at 12:15 today at JACK Casino in Cleveland, Ohio. This event is the seventh event of the series so far and it will be one of two $1,000 buy-ins, the second of which comes in the form of the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.

At the front of the pack is David Berman who ended with an impressive 673,000 after winning several monster pots and applying max pressure throughout the day. Right behind him we have a little sibling rivalry as Billy Kopp, brother of Day 1a chip leader Katie Kopp, bagged up 563,000 to name him second overall in chips for the first two flights. Rounding out the top three for Day 1b and overall chips is Michael Barlow who will return on Day 2 with 505,000.

Players will start the tournament with 30,000 chips. Blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante, with levels lasting 40 minutes. A break will occur after every three levels. Play will complete when the field reaches level 18, or when just 12.5% of the field remains.

James Calls with Ace-High

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On a heads-up turn of 7565, Daniel Kusnerak checked to Dionta James, who bet 1,500. Instead of calling or folding, Kusnerak decided to put in the check-raise to 4,000, which James called after some pause.

The river fell the 5 and Kusnerak fired for 6,000, but James showed no fear and made the call.

Kusnerak then tabled QJ for just queen-high while James flipped over A4 to take the pot with ace-high.

Hancovsky Cracks Wieland's Aces

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

On a flop of 483, all the chips got into the middle between Anthony Hancovsky and Brady Wieland, with Wieland at risk.

Brady Wieland: AAAll in
Anthony Hancovsky: 88

Wieland shook his head as he saw that he was up against Hancovsky's set, and the runout of J5 changed nothing to send him to the rail.

Brown Makes Flush to Double

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Daniel Hughes opened to 1,100 preflop and was called by one player before Jerry Brown moved all in for 6,900 from the cutoff.

The action was then on the button, Matthew Ferguson, who thought for a few seconds before he clicked it to 14,000. This resulted in folds from the rest of the table and the two players tabled their hands.

Jerry Brown: AQAll in
Matthew Ferguson: 88

Brown would need to improve to stay alive, and improve he did as the runout of 72934 gave him the nut flush on the river to score the pot for the double.
