Lopez Leads the Field as Players Enter Final Day

John Lopez
John Lopez

Poker players battled over the course of three starting flights with 469 entries taking a shot at the RunGood Poker Series Tulsa $800 Main Event. When the dust settled, it was 58 players advancing to Day 2 with their hopes of an RGPS title and the ring still alive as they approach the final day of play at 12 p.m. local time at the Tulsa Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

John Lopez (1,006,000) leads the way as the chip leader after the three starting flights. Rex Robinson (688,000), Dax Alexander (520,000), Andre Allen (520,000), and John Heckenkamp (474,000) round out the top five chip stacks in the standings as the players enter Day 2.

Lopez was a tough act to follow as he was the only player to accumulate a seven-figure stack as players enter Day 2 of play. Lopez was not weary of playing big pots as he clashed with Merritt Kuhn during Day 1a when the two players were the top two stacks in the room at the time. The Springfield resident will look to repeat his past success here at the Tulsa Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as he looks to notch another first-place finish and title.

Bobby Randolph
Bobby Randolph

Day 1b chip leader Bobby Randolph finished the top of his flight to come into Day 2 with a stack of 452,000. Randolph’s late push has put him in a position to make a run at his first RGPS Main Event title.

Notables Forrest Kollar (203,000), Rob Gardner (168,000), Marvin Donaldson (63,000), Craig Welko (263,000), Papa Karn (151,000), and Craig Savage (260,000) remain in contention as they look to add another accomplishment to their RGPS resume.

Action will play down to a winner with 40-minute blind levels slated for the championship’s final day.

Stay tuned here at PokerNews for coverage of the final day’s action and the crowning of a champion here at the Tulsa Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
