Yang Leads 24 From Day 1b in the Jamul Main Event
The biggest individual flight of any tournament so far this stop, saw a total of 189 entrants play the second flight of the $600 Main Event which saw its $150,000 guarantee eclipsed. Only 24 of those players advanced onward into Day 2, to join the 15 from the prior flight’s survivors.
Leading the way is Qiyuan Yang, who bagged a massive stack of 748,000. Hailing from Oceanside, California, Yang had already final tabled one event earlier this week in the Deepstack. He finished in eighth place there and collected $1,115 for his finish. With his overall chip lead, he looks to make another run at a final table in the hopes to make his second ever RGPS cash a big one.

It was not a fortunate day for all as players like Anastasia Knapp, Rip Fritzer, Conrad Simpson, Corey Paggeot, and Anthony Bland all fell by the wayside. Tonight’s flight will be the one final flight for players to secure themselves a cash and a chance for the Main Event title.
The flight ended in Level 16 so that means that play will revert to the first flight’s end time. Play ended with 16:45 left in Level 15 in Day 1A, with blind at 4,000/8,000, with a 8,000 big blind ante. This will be the level the players will return to unless another flight ends earlier.
