Roberts Traps with Kings and Knocks Out Backes
Level 18
: Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Bill Backes raised to 40,000 from the cutoff, which was called by John Roberts on the button. Then Scott Hirsch in the small blind three-bet to 150,000. Once the big blind folded, Backes four-bet all in for his stack of 425,000, and Roberts five-all in for his stack of roughly 1,100,000. Hirsch gave it a quick thought before mucking his hand to leave the players heads up, with Backes at risk.
Bill Backes: A♥K♠
John Roberts: K♦K♣
Roberts slow played his kings and was able to take the sizable pot once the board ran out 3♠J♥2♠3♦6♥ and eliminated Backes.
