Fireworks Erupt between Helpard and Sengphet After Cooler Flop
David Helpard from middle position and La Sengphet from the small blind were tangled in a three-bet pot with about 5,500 in the middle preflop.
With the flop reading A♥10♦6♦, a series of raises resulted in Sengphet's 43,000 stack finding its way into the middle, and she was at risk against Helpard.
La Sengphet: A♦Q♦
David Helpard: 10♠10♥
It was a cooler scenario, with Helpard flopping middle set against the top pair and nut flush draw of Sengphet. However, the board would run out 2♥8♥, leaving the set of tens best for Helpard to take out Sengphet.
Sengphet, who just a won a large Seniors tournament in Austin, Texas a few days ago, wished her opponents farewell on her way to the rebuy desk.
"That sh*t might work in the Seniors tournaments," Helpard joked, "But don't try that here."
