Montgomery Recoups
Level 2
: Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
John Montgomery slipped down in the standings to start the tournament, but a small pot inched him closer to a starting stack.
The hand began when the hijack opted to raise to 800. The cutoff responded with a re-raise to 1,600 before Montgomery made the call from the big blind, and the hijack came along to create a three-handed pot as they went to a flop.
The K♠5♦J♣ flop was met with a round of checks to bring the 10♦ turn. Montgomery took this opportunity to bet 2,000. The hijack folded before the cutoff made the call.
Montgomery slid out another bet of 2,000 on the 7♥ river before the cutoff yielded with a fold to award Montgomery the pot.
