Out of the Snow and Into Day 1d Chip Leader
Day 1d of the RunGood Poker Series Passport Austin $600 Main Event hosted a total of 299 entries, bloating the total number of entries across the first four starting flights to 769 entries thus far. A total of 36 players were permitted to advance to Day 2 as participants looked to capitalize on the opportunity to advance and get a piece of the $250,000 guarantee at the first-ever RGPS stop at The Lodge Card Club.
When the dust settled, it was Lisa Schuessler (881,000) who edged out Chat Clussman (871,000) to become Day 1d chip leader. Scott Aulds (583,000) rounded out the top three finishers of the flight.
For Schuessler, nothing was simple or straightforward about her journey to lead the pack on Day 1d. She shared that she attended RGPS Passport Tulsa, and the lack of success at the event left a sour taste in her mouth.
“I threw way too many bullets at the main,” Schuessler said. “I told myself I’m never playing RunGood again.”
Yet, despite her proclamation, Schuessler found herself desiring to come play RGPS Passport Austin. Even that decision was not a straightforward venture, as she shared that her driveway was filled with ice and snow.
Just getting out of her house was trouble, and the adversity did not end there. Schuessler shared with PokerNews that her first buy-in on Day 1d did not go well as she busted in just two hands. She fired again, and the rest is history.
“It feels amazing. I feel like a million bucks,” Schuessler said. “I think I like RunGood again.”
