Daniel Lowery Takes Home Palace Poker’s First-Ever Six-Figure Prize
After seven Day 1 starting flights and a lengthy Day 2 battle on the felt, the Dallas stop of the RunGood Poker Series Passport Season has officially come to a close with Daniel Lowery claiming victory to capture his twelfth RGPS title, and the top-prize of just over $100,000.
The event marked the first time RunGood has partnered with Palace Poker, a brand-new poker room in Grand Prairie, Texas, that just opened its doors this past summer. The $1,200 Main Event drew 468 entries, with only 56 players returning for the final day of action looking to capture a six-figure score.
Lowery bagged big on Day 1c and entered Sunday as the overall chip leader with over 100 big blinds. He carried his momentum all the way to the end, defeating Thao Tran after a back-and-forth heads-up match to earn the lion's share of the $500,000 prize pool.
When asked how he was feeling following his big win, Lowery mentioned, "Ecstatic. I mean, it's great. This room's great, the staff was great, the food was great, and I just had a great time. And to cap it off, I get to win two tournaments down here, so it's been a fun week."

Cementing RunGood Legacy
Prior to last weekend, Lowery was already regarded as one of the most accomplished and recognizable players who frequent the RunGood stops, holding the record for number of cashes. With today's victory and his win in the $400 Big O Ring Event earlier in the series, Lowery now holds the top spot for number of titles.
"So, I was behind Preston McEwen when I came down here," explained Lowery. "He had 11, I had 10 titles, and now I have 12, and he has 11. That's a really good friend of mine. So a little good, friendly competition on something like that, for sure."
If that wasn't impressive enough, Lowery's cash in the main event propelled him to the top of the all time money list, passing Tyler Patterson to become the most decorated player in RunGood history.
Role as RunGood Ambassador
Lowery spoke about his role as a RunGood ambassador and the pride he takes in promoting the brand along with peers who have become like family to him.
"I started with Tana [Karn] back in '13, '14, and then ever since the inception of the RunGood Poker Series, I wore his apparel everywhere. I would be try to be an ambassador at all the stops I would go to on the circuit or anywhere around the country, in the South mostly."
"He had me go to most of all the newer stuff that we've ever had and try to promote any tournaments that were upcoming. The face of RunGood has kind of changed over the last 3 or 4 years where it's more content creators and I don't fall into that category, but, there was 8 or 10 of us that we call ourselves the OGs that promoted RunGood back in the day. When I say back in the day, for the first 7-8 years, we helped it grow and we're proud of that. And most of us are still a big part of it."
Lowery said this win is especially meaningful to him, as it took place at one of his old stomping grounds.
"I used to play in Dallas a lot, I know a lot of the players down here. I thought that would be good for me to come and try to promote. And it just so happened that I get to win the biggest one down here, so it's kind of cool."
It's not just about the money and the rings to Lowery; he mentioned that the series and the people involved are what make it special.
"This poker series is great for poker. We just all turned into family and it's really cool to me to be a part of something like that."
