The event carries a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool, and the final starting days will follow on Saturday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in Southern California. The week will see a total of 12 RGPS rings awarded, with all of the action wrapping up on Sunday, February 22.

Last time in San Diego, Maksim Tatarintsev took down the RGPS Grand Prix San Diego $600 Main Event for the second year in a row, earning the top prize of $38,890.

Tatarintsev took home the largest piece of the $180,960 prize pool after outlasting 348 entrants to secure a second RGPS main event title. Zach Kelley finished as the runner-up to earn $27,250.

Tatarintsev has already had a successful week here at Jamul Casino Resort, finishing fourth in the $300 PokerNews PowerStack event.
