Walking Sticks Keep Nguyen Upright
Level 13
: Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Joe Nguyen shipped it from early position and clashed with Stephen Hesse from the big blind to be at risk for 91,000.
Joe Nguyen: 7♥7♠
Stephen Hesse: A♣Q♥
Nguyen found himself in a race for his tournament life, but the flop gave him nothing to fear when it came 2♦3♥K♦.
The 9♠ turn was safe before he slammed a set when the 7♣ hit the river to award him the double up and leave Hesse back at the drawing table.
