Day 1bc Started

Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series Tulsa Main Event Kicks Off at Noon!

Jael Lewis
Jael Lewis

After an exciting flight 1a of the RunGood Poker Series at Hard Rock Tulsa, Oklahoma main event that saw 20 players make the money and advance to Day 2 play, the first of the final two starting flights will kick off today at 11:00 p.m. With the Day 1a session bringing in 153 entries, covering almost $80,000 worth of the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, we're certain to see the guarantee having already been surpassed headed into the last of three starting flights later today with serious potential to well over triple that $100,000 mark.

Flight 1c begins at 6 p.m. and will be the last chance for players to bag for a chance to chase the title and what will assuredly be a huge first-place prize.

Yesterday saw Jackson Turrentine put the most chips into the bag (554,000) while notables Jael Lewis (541,000), Bryce Laymance (535,000), Michael Phillips (370,000) and RunGood Poker Series Ambassador Julie Cornelius (197,000) all bagged a top ten stack as well. Also forging a path to Day 2 is fellow RungGood Ambassador Greg Raymer, who will come back to 100,000 chips when the fields combine for the final day tomorrow at noon.

Players to fire the 1a session and bust before bagging included defending champion Pete Petree, RunGood Ambassadors Daniel Lowery and Mike Murphy and all-time leading RGPS ring winner Brian Frenzel, who earlier in the day had won two rings in less that 5 hours to extend his leading ring count from five to seven. Players in the remaining fields are almost certain to see these faces in the field with them, though, as players can play all flights of this event in their chase for the title.

Players will begin with 30,000 in chips, with the blinds beginning at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Every level will last 30 minutes, with 15-minute breaks after every four levels. After level 8, players will go on their final break before registration closes and play will continue until 12.5% of the field remains, which will see the remaining players bag up and move on to Day 2 having already made the money. Those who do not find a bag in this flight can exercise their right to re-enter the third and final flight beginning tonight at 6:00 p.m.

Keep it right here at PokerNews as we will provide up-to-date coverage all the way to the champion being crowned!

Haver Wins At Showdown

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

James Haver limped in for 200 from under the gun. Action folded around to the small blind who came in for a raise to 1,000. The big blind called as did Haver to see the flop come 9Q5.

Action checked through to the 2 turn.

The small blind checked and the big blind put out a bet for 1,500. Haver made the call and the small blind folded to bring the 6 out on the river.

Action checked through to showdown and when Haver turned up the K9, the small blind sent his cards into the muck and Haver collected an early pot.

Early Jam from Conner Shuts Down Opponent

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

On a flop of 3910 with three active players and around 6,000 already in the middle, the late position player checked as did the cutoff. Coulter Conner on the button counted out chips and tossed out a bet for 3,500. The late position player got out of the way but the cutoff called to see the A hit the turn.

The player in the cutoff checked once again to Conner who paused briefly before moving all-in for around 18,000. The cutoff quickly folded and Conner collected the pot uncontested.

Crawford Locks It Up on the Turn

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action folded to the player in the cutoff and with only 900 left, they jammed all-in. Paul Crawford called from the small blind and the big blind called as well to see the flop come J10A.

Crawford led out with a jam of his own totaling 5,000. The big blind didn't seem to love the spot but did end up putting in the call to put both of his opponents at risk and send all three players to a runout.

Late Position: 89
Paul Crawford: 34
Big Blind: A9

The big blind was ahead for a potential double knockout but when the turn brought the 7, Crawford completed the flush and left both of his opponents drawing dead headed to the meaningless Q river card as Crawford collected the pot and sent the late position player to an early exit.

Neuman Jams Turn, Shows the Bluff

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The player under the gun raised to 1,500 and found a caller in the player in the cutoff. The button folded to Ronnie Neuman in the small blind who counted out a three-bet to 6,700. The player under the gun called and the cutoff folded to bring out the 5106 flop.

Neuman continued with a bet of 4,500 and was called by the player under the gun, prompting the dealer to burn and turn the 2.

Neuman wasted little time in jamming, sliding out a stack of 1,000 chips to represent his action. The player under the gun quickly folded, showing the AxKx.

In response, Neuman turned over the AQ, showing the successful bluff as the dealer pushed the pot in his direction.
