Vito DiStefano Leads as 45 Advance From Day 1b of the RGPS All Stars Comeback Tour Seminole Coconut Creek $600 Main Event

Level 14 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Vito DiStefano
Vito DiStefano

The RunGood Poker Series All Stars Comeback Tour Seminole Coconut Creek $600 Main Event saw the second of two starting flights come through and bring another impressive crowd of 314 entrants to the South Florida felt in search of advancing to Day 2 action. The field was brought down to just 45 players by night's end, with Vito DiStefano bagging up the chip lead with 311,000 in chips, which is behind the 406,000 chip stack of Day 1a chip leader David Albertson.

DiStefano was in action early and often throughout the day, starting out hot in Level 2 when his flopped straight found a pair of customers who had flopped two pair. Sitting with heaps early helped DiStefano get a stack with which he could pull off impressive bluffs, crack aces, and spike sets to cruise through the day with relatively few speed bumps.

Coming in second in chips is Theo Lawson (295,000), who padded an already impressive stack in the last few hands of the day by cracking pocket kings with pocket jacks. Other notables who managed to bag up chips include Luis Mantilla (248,000), Mark Lafata (215,000), and Joseph Nolin (100,000).

Not everyone was able to navigate the huge field to return for Day 2, including former Survivor champ "Boston" Rob Mariano, 14-time WSOP Circuit Ring winner Maurice Hawkins, married two-time WSOP Bracelet winners Loni Hui and Phillip Hui, and Tommy Bates.

Day 2 is set to begin tomorrow at 11 a.m. EST, with the 45 players from today's flight joining the 29 from Day 1a to play down to a winner. Action will kick off at Level 15 (2,000/4,000/4,000) and levels will be 40-minutes in length for the duration of Day 2. Full prize pool information is set to be released before the tournament begins, so be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews for full payout information, as well as the Day 2 seat draw, as we crown the latest RunGood Poker Series All Stars Comeback Tour champ!

Ounjian Gets There; Rivera Dusted

Level 14 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Eric Rivera
Eric Rivera

Jon Ounjian was all in and at risk for 25,500 from the big blind with a {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop on the felt, against a lone opponent in the cutoff.

Jon Ounjian: {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Ounjian got unlucky when the {7-Clubs} turn gave his opponent a straight, but the {7-Spades} river brought Ounjian back from the dead with a full house for the double.

Just before that, Eric Rivera was spotted standing from his seat, and quickly shared his bustout.

"Aces against ace-king. I raised, he three-bet, standard stuff. Flop king-king-three, goodbye!" Rivera was still in good spirits despite his elimination and was all smiles while watching the rest of the Day 1b action.

Kerlin Quads Up

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Allen Kerlin
Allen Kerlin

Allen Kerlin jammed for 6,700 from middle position, and Jim Gibson called in the hijack, as did a player in the cutoff. The small blind three-bet to 35,000, forcing Gibson out, and the cutoff flung {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} up on the felt and folded as well.

"I had you," the small blind told the cutoff.

Allen Kerlin: {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Kerlin's prospects turned bright after a {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop gave him the lead with a pair and a flush draw. The {k-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} river were safe for Kerlin, and he quadrupled up.

"Live and suited, that's what I wanted!" Kerlin said while stacking up his new chips.

Brandon Berkenfeld: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Jeffrey Silverstein: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Silverstein shook his head when the {a-Hearts} fell on the turn, robbing him of a few outs, and the {7-Hearts} river forced him to pay off the double to Berkenfeld.

Conrad Rivered By Nolin

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Chris Conrad in previous action
Chris Conrad in previous action

Chris Conrad was all in for 13,200 from the button, and Michael Lind had called in middle position. Joseph Nolin jammed over the top for 38,000 in the hijack, and Lind eventually folded.

Chris Conrad: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Joseph Nolin: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Conrad pulled ahead on the {6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, and while he improved further on the {3-Spades} turn, Nolin actually picked up outs to a straight. Sure enough, the {4-Spades} river fell to give Nolin a straight, and Conrad headed to the cage to fire another bullet with registration nearing an end.
