Kerry "Nailedit" Hildebrand Wins RGPS All-Stars Online

Kerry Hildebrand
Kerry Hildebrand

It took quite a comeback heads up, but Kerry "Nailedit" Hildebrand managed to maneuver past Cody "MaskPain" Hughey to win RunGood Poker Series All-Stars Online.

The heads-up heater enabled Hildebrand, who has a little over $3,000 in cashes on the RunGood tour in Council Bluffs, to lock up a seat in Las Vegas for a special pro-am event to be held at a date TBA. The event will be streamed for a worldwide audience on PokerGO. Hildebrand also earned a RunGood series ring and a RunGood swag pack.

At the start of the 360-player event on the Faded Spade card club platform, everyone had hopes of grabbing some bounty prizes attached to specially designated players. Those lucky enough to be seated with the six players got their cracks over the next few hours, and here's how the prizes and eliminations shook out:

  • Matt “mastodon460” Donaldson eliminated Sarah Herring for VIP Game Night Ticket
  • "Pokerbabe" eliminated Joey Ingram for PS4
  • "DocRandy74" eliminated Tana Karn for $100 RunGood store credit
  • "Payheedku" eliminated "Boston" Rob Mariano for iPad
  • Payheedku eliminated Jamie Kerstetter for Boston Rob signed hat
  • "PokerNicky" eliminated Tom Wheaton for $550 credit to LearnProPoker and RangeTrainerPro

Payheedku rode the bounty boon to the chip lead at the final table, but Hughey would be one running like hot fire and taking command from there. He hit a set at a key time when he was all in and at risk with pocket nines against the ace-king of Payheedku and the jacks of Jason Caster. A nine on the flop and a fade of Caster's six outs on the turn and river saw Hughey take a big lead.

Hughey had more than half of the chips three-handed, and it looked to be a matter of time heads up with a big lead over Hildebrand, who was soon down to five blinds. She got it in with eight-seven and was crushed by king-eight, with Hughey flopping a king to boot. But, Hildebrand managed to run a backdoor straight to survive.

That would be a theme for Hughey in the frustrating match as he had several chances to close out only for the deck to continually favor Hildebrand, Eventually, enough all-in pots went her way to give her the lead. Hughey looked likely to get right back in it when he turned a pair of aces all in preflop against king-jack, only for a cruel runout to give Hildebrand two pair on the river to end the tournament.

While RunGood hasn't made any announcements about the near future just yet, founder Tana Karn did indicate to PokerNews he still hopes to fill several seats for the PokerGO event that were originally slated to be awarded in now-canceled events. So, stay tuned to the RunGood social media channels to see what the team has in the works for the coming months.
