The RunGood Poker Series Downstream Casino main event begins Friday at noon. This event is slightly different than some of the other RGPS main events with two starting flights Friday, one at noon and one at 7.

The third and final flight will be Saturday at noon.

The main event is a $100,000 guarantee with a $575 buyin. Players start with 20,000 starting chips and will play 12 30-minute levels in their day one flight before bagging for Day 2. Day 2 will resume Sunday at noon.

This season at the RGPS is Championship Ring season and each winner of an RGPS event will win a Signature Championship Ring. The crowd for the RGPS Downstream event has grown with each visit and this main event is expected to be the largest RGPS Downstream yet.

You can catch all the updates and photos for the entire event here on PokerNews.com. The action begins at noon today.

Cards in the Air

There are 39 players kicking off the first flight of the RGPS Downstream main event. This stop is unique because the usual start time for the Friday flight is 7 p.m.

For this stop, there are two flights on Friday and one afternoon flight Saturday to leave Saturday evening for the partners No-Limit Hold'em event.

Dan Lowery is in the field as the first card comes off the deck as well as many of the locals who have been playing the events throughout the week.

Charles Aron Has Played One Hand So Far

"I played one hand, and I played it poorly," said Charles Aron.

Aron is an author and attorney from Laramie, WY who now lives in Kansas City. He won a little more than $40,000 after finishing second in the RGPS Kansas City main event in May 2018.

Aron said he traveled here just for the tournament and has made it to several RGPS stops.

He's a published author who got a kick out of The Tattered Cover, a famous bookstore in Denver, CO, putting his book 'A Thread in the Labyrinth' in the philosophy section of their store.

Carroll Christiansen Makes a Boat

Carroll Christiansen was heads up with the board reading {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and his opponent bet 300. Christiansen called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The river was the {a-Spades}, pairing the board.

The first player checked and Christiansen bet 2,000. His opponent reluctantly called the bet and Christiansen showed {a-}{j-} for a full house.

His opponent flipped {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} over in his hand before tossing it into the muck.

Happy Birthday to the Milkman and Updated Chip Counts

David Cantrell is celebrating his 80th birthday today at the RGPS Downstream main event.

His table has nicknamed him 'The Milkman' since he's worked his way up to 58,000 already through almost four levels of play.

The table joined in singing Happy Birthday to him and he seems to have taken to the new nickname.
