Day 1 of PokerStars 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker -74-L: $109 NLHE [8-Max, Main Event] has come to an end after seventeen levels of play. There were a total of 42,754 entries on Day 1 with 10,697 surviving to Day 2 but with late registration being open till 5 minutes prior to the start of Day 2, these numbers are not final.

"anarkevich", from Belarus, bagged the chip lead of Day 1 with a stack of 649,584. "anarkevich" remained near the top of the leaderboard during the last levels of the night and he took over the chip lead after eliminating "lans742"with kings against "lans742"'s tens in for a significant pot in an all in preflop situation.

He is followed by "mir18282008" with 562,523. "AxelwOw~" sits in third with 544,370 and "2Much$4U_08" round up the top four with 503,098. These are the only stacks above the half a million mark.

Veldhuis" Veldhuis" (251,768), Georgina "GJReggie" James (120,459), Mikhail "innerpsy" Shalamov (65,614), Tom "MajinBoob" Hayward (128,529), Arliane "Prince Pablo" Shaban (130,624), Ben "Spraggy" Spragg (23,880) and Felix "xflixx" Schneiders (106,236) as well as familiar faces Milko "Milkovw" Van Winden (241,779) and "allin2bluff" (147,439).

PokerStars ambassadors "Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas", Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand and OP-Poker James did appear in the Day 1 field but couldn't get anything going their way.

They, as well as many others, will have the option to try again tomorrow. Action will resume on Monday May 18th at 1:05 p.m. EST at Level 18 which features a small blind of 900 and big blind of 1,800 with a 225 ante.
