Day 2 of SCOOP Main Event L Comes to an End

A thrilling Day 2 in the SCOOP Main Event L saw the field whittled down to just 157 players, who will return for Day 3 tomorrow, May 30th at 12:30 pm ET.

Late registration remained open for today’s event until just before cards got in the air for Day 2. As players took their seats, the field had reached a total of 22,663 entries, with 7,493 players still vying for their share of the prize pool, which reached $2,266,300.

A total of 3,183 players made the money, taking home at least the min-cash of $194.44. The eventual champion will take home $232,581.89. The remaining 157 players have locked up a score of at least $1,318.30.

Play will resume with Day 3 on May 30th, with cards getting in the air at 12:30 pm ET. Play will continue until just nine remain. These nine will make up the event’s final table, which will be played the following day. Day 3 will begin at Level 42, with blinds at 60,000/120,000 with an ante of 15,000.

No PokerStars Ambassadors managed to bag today. Felix "xflixx" Schneiders was the last member of the team standing, finishing in 1,402nd for a cash of $327.70.

The chip lead went back and forth among a number of players throughout, but “Sodaski” took a sizable lead late in play and managed to hold onto it until the conclusion of play. They bagged 16,848,127, more than 2 million more than second place.

"Sodaski" opened to 160,000 from the hijack. "n1ksis", in the small blind, moved all in for 1,755,877. Once the big blind got out of the way, "Sodaski" made the call and the cards went on their backs.

"Sodaski" already had a commanding lead, and after the A♠7♥6♥ flop, his opponent was left with less than 6% equity. The 8♠ left "n1ksis" drawing dead, and "Sodaski" scooped the pot, soaring into the chip lead.

After "dokovia" opened to 80,000 from the hijack, they faced a raise to 360,000 by the big blind, "simoes66". They called.

On the Q♦9♣J♦ flop, "simoes66" led out for 320,000, getting another call.

"dokovia" found another check-call of 680,000 on the Q♥ turn. On the 2♦ river, "simoes66" check-folded to a bet of 1,000,000 by "dokovia".

The nearly 3,000,000 chip pot went to "dokovia", propelling them into the chip lead.

"Formigah052" called an open of 28,000 from "Rebozeio". After the big blind called as well, there was three players heading to the flop.

Action checked to "Formigah052" on the 9♣6♥4♣ flop, who fired for 69,300. "Dih21", the big blind, raised to 188,664. After "Rebozeio" folded, "Formigah052", the tournament's chip leader, moved all in. "Dih21" made the call for the 322,812 he had behind.

After "Ortega.And" opened to 14,000 from under the gun, "stampr_gg" called in the cutoff. After a fold by the small blind, "johnnydespel" bumped it up to 77,000 from the big blind. "Ortega.And" called while "stampr_gg" got out of the way.

On the 8♣9♦10♥ flop, "Ortega.And" called a bet of 49,000. On the K♠ turn he called another bet, now for 138,250.

With 553,000 in the middle and just 235,160 remaining in his stack, "johnnydespel" moved all in on the 5♠ river. "Ortega.And" called, covering his opponent.
