Blind-on-Blind Collision

Level 10 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante
Luiz Guimares
Luiz Guimares

On a flop of {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Luiz Guimares bet 4,500 only to have his opponent in the big blind rip it for 27,000. Guimares gave it some thought and then spiked in some chips to call.

Guimares: {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Big Blind: {8-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Both players had straight draws but Guimares also had a pair to give him the edge. Neither the {q-Clubs} turn nor {5-Diamonds} river impacted the hand and Guimares scored the elimination.

Hammons Avoids a Club to Double

Level 10 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante
Zachary Hammons
Zachary Hammons

With 16,000 in the pot and a flop of {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}, the player in the big blind checked as did the players under the gun and in the cutoff. Zachary Hammons then moved all in for 23,500 from the button and the big blind woke up with an all-in check-raise to 43,000.

The other two players folded and the hands were turned up.

Hammons: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Hammons had the big pocket pair but his opponent was drawing to the nut flush. Fortunately for Hammons, neither the {6-Diamonds} turn nor {10-Diamonds} river was a club and he shipped the double.

May Deep Stack Flashback: Good Friends Strike Deal in 2018 Event

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Dion Jagroo (Image: Seminole Hard Rock)

Last year, this very event attracted 1,045 entrants over three starting flights and created a $307,900 prize pool. Dion Jagroo dominated the final table to capture the title after striking a heads-up deal, good for $66,000 plus a $1,650 Deepest Stack seat.

Jagroo struck a deal with his good friend Daniel Silva, who locked up $43,554.

“This is literally something we both dreamed about,” Jagroo said after winning last year. “Something we always thought about.”

“It’s crazy,” Silva laughed as they celebrated.

Big Slick Does the Trick for Shah

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Sean Shah
Sean Shah

Matt Yorra moved all in for 26,000 from early position and action folded to Sean Shah, who jammed over the top from the small blind. The player in the big blind got out of the way and it was off to the races.

Shah: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Yorra: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

It was a flip and Yorra was just looking to hold to double. That proved easier said than done though as the flop came down {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} to pair Shah.

Yorra headed for the exit without seeing the {7-Diamonds} turn give him a flush draw, but it was just as well as he missed when the {9-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Perlman Sends Three Players to the Rail in a Single Hand

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Daniel Perlman
Daniel Perlman

We heard a commotion at the far end of the room and discovered action had exploded on a {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The player in the small blind was all in for 15,000, the player in the big for 10,500 more than that, and the player in the cutoff at risk for approximately 40,000 more. Daniel Perlman was in middle position and had them all covered, but just barely.

Perlman: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Small Blind: {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Big Blind: {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs} turn was interesting as gave the big blind a straight, the cutoff a set, and Perlman a flush draw. The small blind was left drawing dead.

"Club," Perlman requested. The dealer obliged by putting out the {9-Clubs} to give him the best flush and three knockouts.
