Barker's Four-Bet Gets Through

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Budway Salhab raised to 25,000 from the cutoff, and Johannes Mueller three-bet to 62,000 from the small blind. Alex Barker upped the ante with a cold four-bet to 120,000 from the big blind.

"Thanks for that," Salhab told Barker as he made a quick fold.

Mueller thought for about two minutes, eyeing up Barker several times, before showing the {A-Diamonds} and letting his hand go.

Jason Nablo - 6th Place
Jason Nablo - 6th Place

Jason Nablo moved all in for his last 156,000 from the cutoff, and Andy Spears asked for a count before calling the bet. Johannes Mueller gave up his big blind, and Nablo was at risk and in trouble against Spears.

Nablo: {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Spears: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Nablo picked up some outs to a wheel on the {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, but the {7-Diamonds} turn and {3-Diamonds} river secured his elimination in sixth place. After the hand, Budway Salhab jokingly declared war on Spears.

"You busted my boy. It's on now."

McCormick Wins Huge Race to Double Through Spears

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Brian McCormick opened the action with a raise to 24,000 from late position. Jason Nablo called from the small blind and Andy Spears three-bet to 80,000 from the big blind. McCormick announced a four-bet ship for 505,000 and Nablo folded. Spears thought for a moment before announcing a call.

Spears: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
McCormick: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Spears was forced to ship double up chips across the table to McCormick. McCormick has now crossed the one-million chip mark.

Spears Over Barker

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

After each committing 25,000 before the flop, Andy Spears and Alex Barker took a flop of {6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Spears led for 31,000 and Barker came out with a raise to 80,000. Spears called to see the {K-Spades} hit the turn.

Spears checked once again and Barker fired 80,000. Spears called once more and the {10-Spades} completed the board. Both players checked and Barker showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades} for two pair. Spears rolled over {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a rivered set of tens and the winning hand.

Barker Not Backing Down

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Andy Spears raised to 25,000 from the hijack and Alex Barker called from the button. The blinds released, and it was heads-up to the flop.

"I don't want to play heads up with him," Barker said about his aggressive opponent.

The dealer rolled out a {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, and Spears bet 31,000. Barker called, and the {K-Hearts} hit the turn. Spears continued the aggression by betting 54,000. Barker called again.

On the {3-Spades} river, Spears slowed down with a check and Barker quickly announced a bet of 150,000. Spears went into the tank, and his cards went into the muck after a minute of thought.

Barker decided to show his {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a rivered straight.

"That's a top hand," Spears said. He smirked as Barker raked in a nice pot.

Travell Thomas - 7th Place

Travell Thomas moved his short stack of about 110,000 all in on a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Alex Barker quickly called. Thomas rolled up {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and was leading against Barker's {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for top pair of jacks.

Everything changed on the turn, however, as the {K-Spades} rolled off and gave Barker top two pair. Barker's two pair held the lead even as the {8-Diamonds} hit the river and Thomas was eliminated in seventh place. He will collect $7,861 in prize money.
