Hawkins Avoids Disaster; Donegan Doubles

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Table 4 has been the action table today. Apparently every other hand has pitted one crazy hand against another, and we were just fortunate to witness one.

On a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, the player in Seat 9 was all in for 23,100 and Robert Donegan was all in for more. The decision was on Louis Hawkins, who went deep in the tank trying to figure out what each player had.

"I know one of you in on a flush draw. One of you probably on a straight draw."

Hawkins eventually folded his {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the other two players tabled their cards.

Donegan: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}
Seat 9: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Hawkins couldn't believe his eyes when the {2-Spades} peeled off on the turn, which would have given him a set. The {4-Hearts} completed the board, giving Donegan a full house and the big pot. Hawkins thought his twos full of fours would have been the winner, but he was relieved when his tablemates pointed out that Donegan made a bigger full house.

Hawkins saved himself more than 30,000 and still has a healthy stack of 120,000. Donegan is up to around 60,000.
