The 2014 Seneca Fall Poker Classic continued Saturday with Flight B of the $1,000 Main Event, which carries a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. The guarantee was met and then surpassed as the second starting flight attracted 164 entries, bringing the total to 263 for the tournament. The eventual winner will take home $57,736.
Only 42 advanced in Day 1b, and leading the way at the end of the night was Mandeep Chahal with 244,500. He was joined at the top of the leaderboard by Rob Davis, Greg Miller, Ryan Rivers and Shooter Stracuzzi.
Dan Wagner, who finished third in the Seneca Summer Slam Main Event in July, also bagged a healthy stack of 169,200 on Saturday night. He picked up a huge pot midway through the day to boost him over 100,000 in chips. Wagner, Ray Book and another player saw ![]()

flop and checked. Book bet 4,200 and the player on the button called. Wagner then check-raised to 11,400, sending Book into the tank for more than a minute before he tossed his cards. The other player moved all in for about 7,500 more and Wagner snapped him off.

The
turn and
river secured the double for Wagner, who continued building throughout the day. Wagner later told us that he also busted Buck Ramsay, the Summer Slam Main Event champ who coincidentally eliminated Wagner in third place in that tournament. Wagner is in good position to reach his second straight Main Event final table here in Niagara Falls.
Among the other notables who advanced to Day 2 were Vincent Palma, DJ MacKinnon, Rob Bourkney and Lou Tomassi.
Several of the area's top players weren't so fortunate. Defending champ Andy Spears fired five $1,000 bullets into this tournament and was unable to advance, and he was joined on the rail by Jason Nablo, Travell Thomas, Sonny Rattan and Maria Parlatore, among others.
A total of 65 players will return Sunday at noon ET to play down to a champion. Be sure to follow PokerNews for the exciting conclusion of the Seneca Fall Poker Classic Main Event!
