Approaching 100

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

In order to reach the $50,000 guarantee for Event #5 there would need to be an average of 84 entries for each of the six starting flights. Tournament staffers told us they were expecting around 80 for this morning's flight, and that number has easily been surpassed with 10 minutes still left on the clock. We're at 98 and counting right now.

Bartolotta, Demmerley Dusted

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Cam Bartolotta told us he ran queens into kings on his way out of the tournament area. Anthony Guggino and Art Demmerley were also eliminated during this level. Re-entry is still open for another 55 minutes so we'll see if they take advantage.

Rivera Busts Aitchison

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Scott Aitchison opened to 800 from early positition and Alex Rivera flatted from the cutoff. On the {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop Aitchison bet 1,200 and Rivera called, bringing the {7-Hearts} on the turn. Aitchison checked, Rivera bet 4,000 and Aitchison moved all in for around 11,000. Rivera tossed in a call and the cards were tabled.

Aitchison: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}
Rivera: {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Rivera was ahead and the {K-Spades} on the river sealed the deal. Aitchison says he's done with this event for now and is headed to the cash tables.

Sweet Turn for Szewczyk

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Seven limpers went to a flop of {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and action checked to the player in Seat 8. He bet 3,000, Justin Szewczyk responded by moving all, and the player in Seat 4 reshoved. The rest of the table folded and the cards were tabled.

Szewczyk: {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Seat 4: {5-Spades}{2-Spades}

Szewczyk was drawing thin but he hit gin on the {10-Hearts} turn. He improved even further when the {8-Clubs} completed the board, giving him tens full of eights for the win.
