The 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam continued Tuesday with the third starting flight of Event #5, a $125 buy-in no-limit hold’em event with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. The special event features six separate starting flights across three days with the survivors advancing to Day 2 on Thursday to play down to a champion.

Flight C began at 11 a.m. ET and attracted a total of 79 entries before registration closed at the end of Level 8. Leading the way after 12 full levels was Jack Vaccarello with 204,200 in chips. Vacarello took a huge lead late in the afternoon when he flopped two pair and got paid off against a pair with a straight draw.

Finishing second in chips was Blake Napierala, who won a big pot with jacks against threes to take the chip lead and cross the 100K mark. He went on to finish the day with 140,900, barely ahead of Jason Lizardo (139,600).

Several Seneca Poker regulars were able to advance as well, including Jason Nablo, Aaron Olshan and Sam Guercio. They will all return for Day 2 on Thursday at noon ET.

Flight D is already underway this evening. Be sure to stay tuned to our continuous coverage of Event #5 throughout the week!
