Just 13 Through To Day 2; Knoll Leads

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Anthony Knoll
Anthony Knoll

The first of six starting flights for this third event on the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic schedule drew 56 entries at the Niagara Falls Poker Room inside the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino today.

From there, just 13 made it through to the final day of this $50,000 Guaranteed $100 No-Limit Hold'em event set for Thursday.

Despite the small field and some tight early play, Rich Cadwallader made a bunch of slick moves to become the first player over 50,000, then 100,000, on the way to bagging 116,400.

Cadwallader actually busted Anthony Knoll in the first half of the day, but he came back with a second bullet later. After busting three players in one hand and enjoying a late rush in the last level, it was Knoll who ended with the biggest stack. He'll bring 161,400 with him to Day 2.

None of the other players made it past the six-figure mark.

With the Monday morning blues out of the way, bigger numbers are expected as the event moves forward, beginning with the second of six starting flights at 6 p.m. local time this evening.

Tune in then as PokerNews will be on hand to capture all the action from start to finish.

Sometimes Your Cards Ain't Worth a Dime

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
'Richie' Rich Cadwallader
'Richie' Rich Cadwallader

Rich Cadwallader is playing table captain today and is now chip boss on over 50,000 already.

He raised it up prefelop and the big blind defended. Cadwallader checked the {7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, but when the big blind led for 2,400, he check-raised to 7,000. The big blind called, then led 8,000 into the {8-Diamonds} turn. Cadwallader called and the {9-Diamonds} river was revealed.

The big blind fired out a 10,000-chip bet, leaving himself some 3,000 behind. Cadwallader jammed all in, and after a two-minute tank, the big blind folded.

He got kings cracked by a rivered set of threes in a tiny pot right after, but Cadwallader still leads heading into a 15-minute color up break that starts right now.

Just Keep Truckin' On

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Anthony 'Mud' Knoll
Anthony 'Mud' Knoll

Niagara Falls, NY local Anthony Knoll made a runner-runner flush to crack three aces and drag a decent pot.

Then he got in a preflop raising war with Rich Cadwallader that went from 1,500, to 3,200, to all in awful fast. Turned out Cadwallader had kings, Knoll had aces and they both wanted to play for stacks.

They both flopped a set and a Broadway draw to chop, but the aces held. Miraculously, Cadwallader still has twice the 15,000 chips everybody started with, but Knoll is now working with almost three times that.

Got My Chips Cashed In

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Mandeep Chahal
Mandeep Chahal

Heading into the first break of the day, Mandeep Chahal has jumped into the chip lead.

The Brampton, ON, Canada resident just about tripled up in a huge hand moments ago.

He called an under the gun raise to 400 in late position going three ways to a flop when the small blind came along for the ride. The small blind checked the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop and the preflop raiser led lout for another 400. Chahal raised it up, making it 1,100 and the small blind put his full starting stack in.

Under the gun called all in for less with top two pair, Chahal called holding the {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flush draw with the gutshot, and the small blind had {q-}{j-} for the nut straight.

The {6-Clubs} turn made Chahal his flush and {a-Clubs} river gave him a better one to scoop the massive early pot.
