$100 No-Limit Hold'em

Day 1a Completed

Just 13 Through To Day 2; Knoll Leads

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Anthony Knoll

The first of six starting flights for this third event on the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic schedule drew 56 entries at the Niagara Falls Poker Room inside the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino today.

From there, just 13 made it through to the final day of this $50,000 Guaranteed $100 No-Limit Hold'em event set for Thursday.

Despite the small field and some tight early play, Rich Cadwallader made a bunch of slick moves to become the first player over 50,000, then 100,000, on the way to bagging 116,400.

Cadwallader actually busted Anthony Knoll in the first half of the day, but he came back with a second bullet later. After busting three players in one hand and enjoying a late rush in the last level, it was Knoll who ended with the biggest stack. He'll bring 161,400 with him to Day 2.

None of the other players made it past the six-figure mark.

With the Monday morning blues out of the way, bigger numbers are expected as the event moves forward, beginning with the second of six starting flights at 6 p.m. local time this evening.

Tune in then as PokerNews will be on hand to capture all the action from start to finish.

Knocked Down, It Get's To Wearin' Thin

Anthony Knoll has risen from the ashes here, firing a second bullet and getting it up over 100,000 now.

He made it 3,500 under the gun and one shorty shoved behind for 3,300 with {5-}{3-}. A third player went all in for 15,000 with pocket jacks and a fourth called all in for 10,000 with pocket threes.

Having them all covered, Knoll called with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, flopped an ace, and sent all three to the rail on his way up the chip count board.

One Of These Days They Know They Better Get Goin'

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ronny D'Grillo

Niagara Falls, NY local Ronny D'Grillo took two huge beats to bow out in the money of the first event on the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic schedule yesterday.

He had pocket aces cracked by {A-}{K-} making Broadway, then his pocket queens flopped a set and turned it full against pocket aces and {k-}{j-}, only to see {k-Clubs}{j-} river quads.

Things have had a better feel today, as D'Grillo has it up to 55,000 now, thanks to a slow and steady climb, free of the stress of the all of Sunday's all in confrontations. At the very least, D'Grillo hasn't had to take the lumps again.

"It ain't over yet," he said.

Kham Vengnhay
Kham Vengnhay

Stoney Creek, ON, Canada's Kham Vengnhay has avoided the big confrontations today, choosing instead to steadily chip up throughout the flight to a spot among the leaders now.

"I've been betting big," he said, explaining that this particular strategy has been working all day and he's won a lot of pots without showdown.
