It Happened One Night

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Todd Saffron
Todd Saffron

Todd Saffron is off to a quick start here and appears to have grabbed the early chip lead.

First he doubled up with a straight over a set, then he picked up pocket aces and got the best of a battle between blinds.

Now he has more than triple what he started with.

Better Lucky Than Good

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

A few hands after raising with pocket aces and getting no callers, Carol Fingar found a way to double up anyway.

She got it in bad with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} on an {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board against a player with {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, but managed to counterfeit his two pair on the {7-Diamonds} river.

Ace On The River

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

A magic ace on the river just helped one player with {a-}{j-} crack pocket queens.

He simply doubled up back to around 15,000, but celebrated like Hevad Khan at the 2007 World Series of Poker, stomping around the room and screaming "Yessss!"

Prompting at least one player at the cash tables to suggest the tournament was already over.

Bang The Drum Slowly

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

It's another flight and another bullet for Mike Boncore.

One of the 13 survivors from Monday's Day 1a flight, Boncore was back at it during Day 1c earlier today to try to better the 30,500 in chips he bagged at the end of that day.

He busted 1c, but after getting it in with set over set once and pocket aces twice here in 1d he's well on his way to reaching that goal.

Big Numbers

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

With the board reading 145 entries into this flight's fifth level, Day 1d is already the biggest of the four starting flights run for this event so far.

With registration and re-entry available until the start of the 13th level all signs point to putting up a big number today and with two more starting flights tomorrow, the $25,000 Guarantee will surely be laid to waste.
