Day 1d Completed
The fourth starting flight of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge Event 5: $50 No-Limit Hold'em is now in the books.
This evening's flight was the busiest of the bunch so far drawing 204 entries.
A total of 24 survived and they will join the 43 survivors from the first three Day 1 flights in coming back to play down to a winner Thursday at 12 p.m. local time.
Plus, there are two more Day 1 flights set for Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time.
Shayne Shackelford absolutely dominated the field tonight, jumping into the chip lead after the mid-point in the flight by flopping a set of jacks to crack Randy Lingenfelter's aces, then crushing the later levels on the way to building an incredible 520,000-chip stack.
Putting things in perspective, he raked in an amazing 25 per cent of the chips in play tonight and no other player from any other flight has bagged more than 185,000 thus far.
Things may change in the two flights tomorrow, but at this point it's safe to say Shackelford is running away with this thing.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be back for Day 1e tomorrow at 11 a.m. local time to keep you up to date on all the action from beginning to end.

Shayne Shackelford is absolutely crushing.
He bet 20,000 into a pot of about 30,000 on a flop and got a call. He bet 30,000 on the turn and was called again. Then, on the river he pushed in and got looked up by his opponent with close to 50,000 more.
He showed having flopped two pair and rivered a flush to bust one more player.
He's now on over half a million chips and is the massive chip leader. To put that in perspective, no one from any of the three earlier flights bagged more than 190,000.
