Chepurny Gone, Wife Too

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Steve Chepurny
Steve Chepurny

Ten minutes into the second level of the day, start-of-day chip leader Steven Chepurny is out.

He lost two big pots in the first level, then dumped the rest in just now. Tomasz Werstler raised with {a-}{k-} and Chepurny called in position with two nines. The flop came no higher than a nine and Werstler open shoved.

Chepurny called off his last 50,000 or so with the best of it, but Werstler binked an ace on the river.

His wife Aviva Chepurny also bagged a stack, but she's nowhere to be found now.

Devins Dominates

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Matt Devins
Matt Devins

Matt Devins is on fire to start the day and has moved into chip boss position.

He knocked out two players in successive hands, the first for 40,000 with tens holding against {a-}{q-}, and the second with his {a-}{k-} winning a race over eight for 30,000.

He's now closing in on 300,000 fast as the first level of the day comes to a close.

Chepurny Chunked

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Steven Chepurny has been knocked off the top of the chip counts after doubling up Daniel McCormick.

After it went check-check on a {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, they got it in on the {a-Clubs} turn with Chepurny on the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. McCormick was the one at risk, but not really, he'd flopped the boat with the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The river was the inconsequential {j-Clubs}.
