The Stacks

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Ernie Guardarramas still leads, but after Mark Roberts got his aces cracked, he and Jason Sagle have swapped spots on the leaderboard.

Durante Dips Out

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Dennis Durante
Dennis Durante

In a battle of short stacks, Rob Bourkney called a Dennis Durante shove with two sevens. Durante had the {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Durante laddered up nicely with the short stack, but his deep run finally ended when the board bricked out. Bourkney is now peaking at over 200,000.

Kaplin Capped, Natkinniemi Nutted

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Leo Kaplin
Leo Kaplin

Leo Kaplin was the first player to one million in chips, but it was all downhill from there. He got bluffed off a huge pot for half his stack by Bradey Girdler, then he finally got his last 200,000 in, shoving two fours over a Lou Procopio under the gun raise with two callers.

Procopio isolated with the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} and Kaplin held all the way to the river on a {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts} board.

They're down to 14 now with Eric Natkinniemi also running sixes into Jason Sagle's jacks.

Napierala Set Up, Knocked Down

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Blake Napierala
Blake Napierala

Paul McLean made it 35,000 and Blake Napierala bumped it to 135,000 with 156,000 behind.

It came back to McLean and he ripped it in. Napierala made a reluctant call with the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and sure enough, McLean had the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

Aces held on a board not worth writing home about and there are 17 left now with the dangerous Napierala out.

Guardarramas Leads, Final Two Tables Set

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Joe Ciffa
Joe Ciffa

An extremely short stacked Joe Ciffa finally stuck it in with top pair queens. Paul McLean had him outkicked.

In the meantime, Mike Latour shoved 200,000-plus with the {a-}{q-} over a Ernie Guardarramas raise. He called with the {a-}{10-} and found a ten.

They're now down to the final two tables of nine with Guardarramas the only one over one million and leading.

Trading Chips

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jason Sagle doubled through Paul McLean after flopping a set versus top pair and holding.

McLean bled off some more chips to Leo Kaplin immediately after, paying him off on a rivered pair of aces.

In the meantime, Ernie Guardarramas has moved back into the lead with Mark Roberts closely in tow.
