The 2018 Western New York Poker Challenge Main Event Champion Will be Crowned Today

Just nine players return to action on Day 3 vying for the title of 2018 Western New York Poker Challenge (WNYPC) Main Event champion. Andrew Miller holds the chip lead with a $66,736 top prize awaiting the winner.
Miller cruised through the latter stages of Day 2 giving himself an almost 2:1 cushion on his closest competitor. Miller will start with 2,630,000 when cards get back in the air at 12 PM local time at the Seneca Niagara poker room. Patrick Tighe, who once had a massive lead of his own on Day 2, comes in second-best wielding a stack of 1,443,000. Mike Latour is the only other player with over a million, bagging 1,273,000 on Day 2.

Miller will look to draw from his experience earlier in the series when he final tabled Event #1, ultimately busting in fifth place for $7,500. Though none of the others have any significant runs throughout the series, all are not strangers to deep runs in the local poker room.
Tighe has captured a title in this very room, just three years ago, winning Event #1 of the 2015 WNYPC for $9,514. Latour has also tasted victory here capturing a 2016 Summer Slam title for over $21,000. Maybe most impressive of the lot, Scott Murawa has made back-to-back WNYPC Main Event final tables. Murawa busted ninth in 2017 earning $5,303. He's already guaranteed more money but he'll be looking to improve on that result this year.
