After two completed days of the $770 Main Event on the SiGMA Poker Tour Brazil stop being held at the prestigious Monte Carlo Poker Club, a total of 158 entries have been recorded in this $250,000 guaranteed prizepool event. There is still a ways to go to reach the guarantee but tournament staff are hopeful with at least another two starting flights on the schedule for today.

Last night, Daria Krashennikova crushed her competitors en route to an overwhelming chip lead, bagging up a stack 771,000 chips. Heading into Day 2 on Sunday, Krashennikova will be joined by the likes of SiGMA Poker Tour ambassadors Lukas Robinson (146,000) and Drea Karlsen (335,000) and Day 1a chip leader Christian Rico (483,000).

Thus far, a total of 19 players have made it through to Day 2 and have guaranteed themselves a portion of the prizepool and a chance to play for the title. With a bolstering guarantee of $250,000 set on this event, the tournament would require roughly 200 more entries today in order to reach that amount. It will be something to keep an eye on as the day unfolds on whether that guarantee will be met.

As for Day 1d, the cards are scheduled to go in the air at an eye-awakening 11 a.m. this morning, or as they say in Brazil, the crack of dawn. Players will sit down with a starting stack of 30,000 chips with the blinds beginning at 100/200. The levels will be 30 minutes throughout with a 15-minute break after every four levels.

Late registration will remain open until the end of level 10 with players being allowed to reenter each flight an additional two times. The action will continue until just 15% of the unique entries remain, at which point they will bag and tag for Day 2. There will also be another turbo flight running this evening at 8 p.m. local time with the potential of a hyper-turbo flight also accommodating any late stragglers rolling in.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the tournament floor to bring you all of the updates throughout the day as well as any information on whether the guaranteed prizepool will be reached.
