Who Will Make the Final Table of the $770 Main Event?
The stage is set and the players are ready to battle it out in the $770 Main Event on the SiGMA Poker Tour at the Monte Carlo Poker Club in Sao Pualo, Brazil. Over the course of six starting flights (one additional hyper-turbo added late last night), a total of 286 entries were recorded with just 36 players making it into the money and advancing to Day 2.
All the players have secured themselves a portion of the $250,000 guaranteed prizepool but it is Daria Krashennikova who has put herself in the best position, entering the day with 771,000 chips. The Russian poker pro is far and away ahead of the rest of her competitors after a stellar performance on Day 1b. Following in her footsteps is Erik Marasco who bagged up 532,000 chips on Day 1d.
Another couple of players to keep an eye on will be the SiGMA Poker Tour ambassadors Drea Karlsen (335,000) and Lukas Robinson (146,000). They will each be looking to put their stamp on the first SiGMA Poker Tour event and come away with the coveted trophy.
The cards are scheduled to go in the air at 2 p.m. local time with the blinds being rolled back to level 14 at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. The levels will also be increased to 40 minutes in length for the rest of the event with a 15-minute break after every three levels.
A full list of payouts will be posted when they become available. The action will continue throughout the day until the final table of nine players is reached, at which point they will return for the final day tomorrow. The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the updates throughout the day en route to the highly anticipated final table.
