Life Outside Poker is a podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the 34th episode, Connor talks with WSOP free-to-play app ambassador Sam Abernathy about growing up in Georgia, studying design, the similarities between gymnastics and poker, finishing third in the 2016 Aussie Millions Main Event, and a notorious slow roll she suffered in that event.

Abernathy also talks about first getting into poker through the WSOP Play app before becoming an ambassador years later, motherhood and being married to fellow poker player Lautaro Guerra, who finished 15th in this year's WSOP Main Event for $450,000.

Joachim Vaesen opened to 400,000 with A♠Q♣ from under the gun, and was met with a three-bet jam from Tomasz Brzezinski from the button for 4,250,000 with 3♦3♣.

After a significant period of thought, Vaesen folded.

Guillaum Otto jammed from under the gun for 1,550,000 and was called by Davide Iannaco in the hijack.

Otto had run into a monster, and there was insufficient help on the A♥Q♠4♥7♦7♠ runout, despite flopping a flush draw and rivering trip sevens, as Iannaco flopped a set and improved to a full house.

Christopher Convery opened to 350,000 with K♥8♥ and received calls from Romain Gachet on the button with Q♦J♦ and Jon Persent in the big blind with 9♥6♥.

The A♣K♣Q♠ flop was checked to the 5♥ turn, where Convery fired out a bet of 350,000. Only Gachet called.

The 10♥ rolled off on the river to give Gachet the straight, and Convery check-called a bet of 150,000 from Gachet.

In the next hand Davide Iannaco opened to 300,000 and Convery three-bet jammed for 1,200,000. Iannaco snap-called.

Convery was crushed and there were no surprises on the J♥10♦5♥A♥K♥ runout.
