Rohan Conradie finally picked up a playable hand on the feature table and raised to 225,000 from the cutoff with the A♦Q♦. All players behind folded and the blinds were shipped to Conradie.
Rohan Conradie finally picked up a playable hand on the feature table and raised to 225,000 from the cutoff with the A♦Q♦. All players behind folded and the blinds were shipped to Conradie.
The outer table has seen more rapid action and Nic Ioannoy has continued to slide down the pecking order, as Gareth Fourie went from shortest stack to the largest stack in the first hour of play.
Saurabh Gulati then battled with Giovanni Zanette in a battle of the blinds and the action was picked up with the turn showing A♣4♦2♥8♥. Gulati checked, Zanette bet 355,000. That was for more than a quarter of Gulati's stack and he folded.
Level: 26
Blinds: 40,000/80,000
Ante: 80,000
Colin Horgan raised to 120,000 with the 7♠4♠ on the button and was called by Divan Le Roux in the big blind, who had the K♥10♦. The 10♥5♥3♣ flop saw Le Roux check, Horgan bet 250,000 with his gutshot and Le Roux call.
After the 8♥ turn, Le Roux checked again and Horgan checked behind to the 5♦ river. Le Roux checked again and Horgan now blasted a delayed second barrel for 550,000. Le Roux used two time banks and won a healthy pot off the chip leader.
The action is heating up on the outer table and Gareth Fourie took a chunk out of Nic Ioannoy. He then battled with Saurabh Gulati and defended the big blind. On the A♦J♥9♦ flop, Fourie check-called for 250,000 and checked the 8♣ turn. Gulati bet 380,000 and Fourie checked his cards very high in the one seat with nobody around to potentially see them.
He then pushed all-in and Gulati let the shot clock run down to five seconds before asking for a count. The shove was for 1,580,000, another 1.2 million on top. Gulati folded after some chatter back and forth, exposing the 9♥ while Fourie exposed his 10♦8♥ for an inferior pair and straight draw.
Gareth Fourie pushed all-in from the cutoff for 620,000 and Diane Walker asked for a count on the button.
"Are you gonna call me this time?" Fourie said and Walker did make the call. Saurabh Gulati tank-folded in the small blind.
Gareth Fourie: Q♠Q♦
Diane Walker: 9♣9♠
"Jack ten of hearts," Gulati said and Nic Ioannoy remarked "why do you tank so long with that?"
The superior pocket pair remained ahead on the 6♠4♣3♥2♣8♦ board and Fourie nearly closed the gap to Fourie.
Divan Le Roux had won a pot off Ronit Chamani with ace-six versus queen-jack and they replayed the same cards the next hand. Le Roux limped A♦6♦ and Chamani in the big blind checked the Q♦J♦.
On the Q♠Q♦6♥ flop, Le Roux bet 60,000 and Chamani called. Le Roux bet another 175,000 on the 4♠ turn to get called, then check-folded the 3♦ river when Chamani made it 250,000 to go.
Nic Ioannoy raised from under the gun and earned three callers on the outer table in Diane Walker on the button, Saurabh Gulati in the small blind and Giovanni Zanette in the big blind.
The flop came 4♦3♣2♣ and it checked to Ioannoy, who bet 225,000. Walker called and Gulati then pushed all-in for 1,525,000.
Two folds later, it was on Walker and Gulati looked at her, then said "I will show you".
Walker reluctantly folded the K♣9♣ for the flush draw and Gulati exposed 8♦8♥ for an overpair.
Colin Horgan raised to 120,000 with the A♦K♥ and Ronit Chamani came along in the big blind with K♣5♣. The flop came A♣4♦2♣ and Chamani check-called for 100,000 with her nut flush draw and wheel draw. The 9♠ turn changed nothing and Chamani check-called for another 320,000 before they checked the 5♦ river.
"Ace-king," Horgan announced and won the pot.
