Blom Strikes Again; Knocks Out Hadjipaschali

Wesley Blom celebrated once more and this time it was a knockout, as he claimed the chips of table neighbour Dimitri Hadjipaschali. The latter had flopped trips kings with K♠Q♦ but Blom rivered a full house with the A♠A♦ on a board of K♥K♦4♠J♠A♣.

As he loudly declared the seat open for the floor to notice, there was another all-in one table over. The flop showed 6♣5♠4♠ and Cliton Taliwanth had jammed his short stack. Derrick Steenkamp was still to act and Taliwanth gritted his teeth to the announcement of Blom.

Ultimately, no call followed and Taliwanth raked in the pot with a big grin, he even flashed the 8♠.

The latter had A♥J♥ for the nut flush draw and picked up more outs on the 4♦ turn. No ace came, but the 9♥ river provided the required flush to send Simuntis packing.

At almost the same time one table over, Harold Brooks sent Rajeev Poonhath to the rail as well. Before the dinner break, Brooks had declared that they were playing "donkey poker" on the table. His 6♣5♥ had flopped an open-ender and turned a straight on K♠7♦4♥8♦ to crack the Q♠Q♣ of Poonhath to reduce the field by one more hopeful.
