With 43 players remaining and 25 of them set to advance to Day 2, some new big stacks are emerging. One of them is Henk Wiese, who just bet very big on a Q♥8♠8♣ flop as he made it 75,000 to go. The fold followed and Wiese exposed the A♥8♥.
After raking in the pot, he told Costa Giannakopoulos "now I have more chips than when I fucked up yesterday". On Day 1b, Wiese had been a big stack on the live stream table but didn't make it through.

Alan Jung raised to 16,500 from middle position and Warren Zackey three-bet to 100,000 in the next seat. All other players behind folded and Jung gave it a couple of seconds before he called.
"Ace-king is in a lot of trouble now ..." Cliton Taliwanth said, expecting to see that card combo with Zackey.
Instead, it was Jung who had the A♥K♥ and Zackey was trailing with A♣J♦, which prompted a "oh wow" from Taliwanth.
The kicker played on the 10♦8♣4♠3♥6♥ runout and Jung doubled for 86,000, shaking hands with his table neighbour right after.

Costa Giannakopoulos defended the big blind and got it in after a flop of Q♥7♣7♦ to get a quick call by Giovanni Zanette.
Costa Giannakopoulos: 8♣7♠
Giovanni Zanette: 7♥5♥
The 6♦ turn and J♠ river ensured the split pot.
Giannakopoulos mentioned that an eight would have been nice.
"I doubled you up twice already, I think that is enough," Zanette joked back.
Giannakopoulos replied "I am in desperation mode" as he remained just above the starting stack.

On the river of a K♦9♠5♥5♦7♥ board, Robert Hertzog had a bet worth 15,000 paid off and showed his 5♣2♣ for trips. That won the pot as the Dane retained his large stack.
Ahmed Karrim could all but smirk, as he was sitting on a fraction of Hertzog's large stack in the one seat, witnessing the betting carnage left and right.

In the 851st episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by PokerStars, Chad Holloway and Kyna England are joined by "Loose Cannon" Lily Newhouse at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to talk about GGPoker purchasing the World Series of Poker (WSOP) brand for $500 million. What will it mean for the future of poker? It's too early to tell, but that doesn't stop the crew from offering their thoughts.
From there, Newhouse talked about her experience as the Loose Cannon on the PokerStars Big Game, which included playing a big pot early against Sam Grafton and battling against Dave Krosky, who proved to be a different sort of loose cannon! Oh, and did we mention the PokerStars Big Game is confirmed to return this Fall during the NAPT for a second season? Well, it is and you can get all the details here.
Kyna then talks about attending the grand opening of the brand-new Venetian Poker Room, now the largest room on the Strip, and you get to hear from other attendees including Joey Ingram, Maria Konnikova, and 2017 WSOP Main Event champ Scott Blumstein. Plus, rapper Nelly was in the house to play the room's first hand, but you'll have to watch to see how he did.
Additionally, hear about poker reporter Terrance "TJ" Reid winning the Destination: RunGood $2,500 Million Dollar Main Event for $192,755, Nick Kocman capturing a career-best score at Maryland State Poker Championship, and Daniel Bellis winning a NAPT Gold Pass in last longer contest. Speaking of which, you'll have a chance to qualify for NAPT Las Vegas at the upcoming Pennsylvania State Poker Championship.
Finally, learn about one Texas poker room's quest to appeal to the female demographic with a women-first concept, hear about Chad's experience competing on Survivor Angelica: Medieval Mayhem, and get a sneak peek at the new Life Outside Poker featuring Brazilian Vlogger Romulo "Poker Profit" Dorea.
The Day 1d field is down to the last 39 players and 25 of them will advance to Day 2, or until the end of level 15 has been reached.
In the meanwhile, the Women's Day Event is down to the final table on the live-streamed feature table while Day 1e has grown to 47 entries. There are currently 33 players remaining in level six with blinds of 300-600 and a big blind ante of 600.

There was a squeeze to 48,000 in front of Rayhaan Adam in the hijack and Gerrit van der Spoel had then pushed all-in from the button for 96,500. All other players went out of the way and Adam asked for a count before he called with the marginally covering stack.
Gerrit van der Spoel: K♦8♦
Rayhaan Adam: J♥J♦
The K♥10♠2♦2♠6♠ runout left Adam flabbergasted and on fumes. He was eliminated shortly after in three-way action when Giovanni Zanette rivered a jack with the Q♠J♠.

After a preflop raising war with around 70,000 in the middle to the 7♣3♠3♦ flop, Elai Mazor checked and Gareth Kalil somehow three-bet to 68,000. Mazor then pushed all-in for 126,500 from the big blind and Kalil went into the tank.
Some table chatter followed in which Kalil was trying to find out if he was up against pocket aces. He first claimed to have pocket kings and sigh-folded.
Mazor flashed his K♥7♦ and Kalil then somehow exposed his cards also, showing the J♥8♥.
"Are you kidding me? Jack eight?" Mazor exclaimed. Kalil replied to another player "with kings I obviously snap-call".
Soon after, the duo got it in preflop with Kalil at risk holding the A♣7♥. Mazor had the A♠8♦ and the 8♥6♦2♥9♥5♣ runout gave Kalil the double with a straight.

Out of a field of 161 entries, only 34 players remain at the end of level 12. They have been sent on a scheduled 15-minute break in which the T-500 chips are raced off. Another three levels are scheduled for tonight or down to the last 25 players, whichever of the two comes first.
