Joining the action on the K♣9♣9♥2♠ turn, David Ng bet 8,000 out of the big blind. Adam Woolf called in the hijack and the 7♠ then fell on the river. Ng bet another 11,500 and Woolf let his shot clock run down to four seconds before he called.
Ng mucked his cards and Woolf showed the 10♥10♦ before collecting the pot.
Local regular Nadeem aka "NT" promised to flip it in the first hand after joining table seven and did so after a raise to 4,000 by Ahmed Karrim, a call by Nick Sissou on the button and the call of Nic Ioannoy in the small blind.
Before his turn to act, he had peeked at his cards high for the rail and joked "it is also my birthday". The shove was then for 38,500 and Karrim called, Sissou called all-in for fewer and Ioannoy also came along to make it a four-way pot.
On the Q♣J♣8♥ flop, Ioannoy jammed and Karrim folded.
NT: 7♠4♠
Nick Sissou: 9♥7♥
Nic Ioannoy: 8♦3♦
The 10♠ turn and Q♥ river gave Sissou a quadruple up while NT busted. He then re-entered and got it in the very next hand with Q♦J♣ against the Q♣10♣ of Ioannoy. On a board of Q♥10♥3♦6♣J♠, NT binked the superior two pair on the river.
"NT" was all-in preflop from the hijack, Nic Ioannoy did so from the cutoff for 45,500 before Ahmed Karrim in the small blind looked them all up with the superior stack. The big blind also called all-in for fewer chips.
Big Blind: A♥10♣
Nic Ioannoy: 7♣5♠
"NT": K♥Q♥
Ahmed Karrim: A♣5♥
The 9♦8♥2♥8♣6♦ runout gave Ioannoy a straight and the big blind was eliminated. "NT" lost the side pot to Karrim and then won the blind flip satellite to jump back into the action.
Upon completion of level nine, the 22 remaining players out of 71 entries have been sent on a scheduled 45-minute dinner break. They will return at approximately 8.50 p.m. local time when one further level of re-entries and late registration awaits.
All tables were empty already but one as "SM" and Merwan Corront tangled in a larger pot to the 6♠2♦2♥10♦ turn. Some 95,000 were in the middle and SM moved all-in with the slightly covering stack. Corront had around 60,000 behind and went deep into the tank, investing multiple time bank extensions while actively chatting with his opponent.
"Can you beat a six?" SM eventually asked and Corront needed another minute before he called.
Merwan Corront: A♣J♠
SM: Q♠10♠
No ace or jack but the 3♦ fell on the river and Corront was eliminated - seven minutes into the ongoing dinner break.
Only one player registered after the dinner break so far to bring the field up to 72 entries with 22 players remaining.
With both blinds not back in time, Stephen Courtney in the under-the-gun position and Ahmed Karrim duelled to the Q♠3♦2♠4♣ turn on which Courtney bet 21,000 and Karrim called.
Courtney checked the 6♠ river and Karrim now made it 39,000 to go. A reluctant call followed and Karrim announced two pair. Courtney exposed his Q♥10♥ but Karrim won the pot with the 6♣3♣.
Jehan Richards had already re-entered previously and then jammed the button for 33,000. Ahmed Karrim called out of the big blind and the cards were revealed.
Jehan Richards: J♠9♥
Ahmed Karrim: K♠10♦
The K♥5♥3♠ flop cemented the lead of Karrim, who locked up the elimination with the 2♣ turn to make the 4♥ river a formality.
Okkie Fourie raised to 5,000 and was called three ways by Darryl Shaff, NT and David Ng in the big blind.
On a flop of A♠7♥5♥, it checked to Fourie and he continued for 11,000. Shaff in the cutoff raised to 26,000 and NT then jammed for 52,500 on the button. Fourie folded and showed the A♦ while Shaff called.
NT: 9♥6♥
Darryl Shaff: A♥Q♣
Shaff was ahead with the top pair but up against a gutshot straight flush draw. The Q♠ turn gave Shaff two pair and he held on the 5♣ river.
"Can I win a flip to play?" NT joked, as he had won the previous entry to get back in at a bargain.
