Guppie Lingenfelder raised preflop to pick up two callers but only Keegan Pillay called a bet of 11,500 by Lingenfelder on the K♥7♠4♥ flop. On the 9♠ turn, Lingenfelder bet another 24,000 to earn a call and emptied the clip with a third barrel for 56,000 on the 6♦ river.

Pillay went into a brief tank and folded. Lingenfelder first flashed the A♠ and then mashed his two cards once more, also showing the A♥ as well.

Soon after, Appel made it 15,000 to go in the cutoff and Dayani defended the big blind. Dayani led the 10♥9♠6♠ flop for 25,000 for Appel to call.

After the 8♦ turn, Dayani bet 75,000 and Appel reluctantly folded to drop back to five figures.

In a battle of the blinds, Alexi Alexandrou jammed the J♥6♥4♣ flop and Joseph Stegers reluctantly folded the 5♥2♥ for a gutshot and flush draw, as Alexandrou flashed the 4♦.

One hand later, Kinesh Pather raised to 11,000 from an early position. Alexandrou jammed again and Pather reluctantly folded.

"I had a good hand," Alexandrou said and flashed his A♥Q♥. "It was a race," Pather replied and exposed his 8♦8♥.

One table over, the big stack of Benjamin "Guppie" Lingenfelder grew even further when he got two streets from Marko Nortje. The latter then folded the Q♠7♦6♣J♠A♥ river and was shown A♦Q♥ for aces and queens.

"Good river ... I had king-queen," Nortje mentioned in table chat.

On the outer tables, Leon G and Amstel were eliminated and that reduced the field to the last 26 contenders.

It was almost 25 as Djordje Stojic got it in dominated with K♥10♥ versus A♠J♣ but scored a lucky punch on the Q♦8♥3♣6♠10♠ runout.

Tony van Eeden ran with pocket tens into the pocket kings of Menesh Keshav and that brought the field down to the last 25 hopefuls. One more elimination was required to end Day 1c and it would follow moments later on the other outer table.

Kinesh Pather raised to 12,000 and Sugen Singh in the small blind three-bet to 38,000. Lagen Zackey then four-bet jammed for the last 99,000 in the big blind and Pather asked for a count. He then folded while Singh reluctantly called.
