Kalil Wins Pot Off Appel

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Gareth Kalil raised it up preflop for Hennie Appel to call from two seats over. They checked the 883 flop before Kalil bet the 6 turn for 11,000 and the Q river for 24,000. Appel called the first bet and reluctantly folded to the final bet.

Other players teased Kalil in showing his cards and he revealed the Q only.

Lingenfelder Jumps Above Half a Million

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Guppie Lingenfelder raised preflop to pick up two callers but only Keegan Pillay called a bet of 11,500 by Lingenfelder on the K74 flop. On the 9 turn, Lingenfelder bet another 24,000 to earn a call and emptied the clip with a third barrel for 56,000 on the 6 river.

Pillay went into a brief tank and folded. Lingenfelder first flashed the A and then mashed his two cards once more, also showing the A as well.

It'a All Appel's And Oranges for Dayani

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Danny Dayani raised to 13,000 and Leon G called in the small blind. Hennie Appel jammed in the big blind and earned two folds.

Soon after, Appel made it 15,000 to go in the cutoff and Dayani defended the big blind. Dayani led the 1096 flop for 25,000 for Appel to call.

After the 8 turn, Dayani bet 75,000 and Appel reluctantly folded to drop back to five figures.

Lingenfelder Keeps Adding Chips

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Alexi Alexandrou jammed the J64 flop and Joseph Stegers reluctantly folded the 52 for a gutshot and flush draw, as Alexandrou flashed the 4.

One hand later, Kinesh Pather raised to 11,000 from an early position. Alexandrou jammed again and Pather reluctantly folded.

"I had a good hand," Alexandrou said and flashed his AQ. "It was a race," Pather replied and exposed his 88.

One table over, the big stack of Benjamin "Guppie" Lingenfelder grew even further when he got two streets from Marko Nortje. The latter then folded the Q76JA river and was shown AQ for aces and queens.

"Good river ... I had king-queen," Nortje mentioned in table chat.

Down to the Last Three Tables

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The previously large stack of Rayhaan Adam melted on the live stream table whereas Stephen Courtney leaped to nearly half a million in chips.

On the outer tables, Leon G and Amstel were eliminated and that reduced the field to the last 26 contenders.

It was almost 25 as Djordje Stojic got it in dominated with K10 versus AJ but scored a lucky punch on the Q83610 runout.

Lagen Zackey

Tony van Eeden ran with pocket tens into the pocket kings of Menesh Keshav and that brought the field down to the last 25 hopefuls. One more elimination was required to end Day 1c and it would follow moments later on the other outer table.

Kinesh Pather raised to 12,000 and Sugen Singh in the small blind three-bet to 38,000. Lagen Zackey then four-bet jammed for the last 99,000 in the big blind and Pather asked for a count. He then folded while Singh reluctantly called.

Lagen Zackey: AK
Sugen Singh: AQ

The dominated ace paired up on the QJ7 flop, then stayed ahead on the 4 turn and 9 river to eliminate Zackey one spot away from making Day 2.
